Shanley Hotel Investigation

I just returned late last night from two days of investigating the Shanley Hotel with Kentucky Paranormal Group.

Yadda, yadda, I’m really tired today.

I will go into detail later concerning any findings and personal experiences in a later blog. I’m off to work and have limited time to delve.

I will say that I highly recommend a stay there if you are interested in investigating. There is a lot of amazing history associated with the place, a lot of crazy energy in different parts. Napoch is nearly a ghost town itself. I suspect a lot of those old buildings have some sort of activity. Unfortunately, the idea of such freaks out the locals. Many wander by curious, but afraid to cross the threshold. The hauntings are legendary for them.

Sal and Cynthia are wonderful people, very welcoming gracious hosts.

If you’re expecting a big “hoot nanny” in town, forget it. It’s a quaint, quiet place where the only night life is what haunts in the quiet shadows. You go for the ghosts! …or to visit Lake Minnewaska and the “Gunks” for hiking and climbing.

Our investigation was an all night affair that disbanded after 5am. I will say that paranormal investigators resort to abject bathroom humor by 4am. This will lead to a lot of fun cartoons later.

I will cartoon the events of this weekend. Right now I’m gonna go to work and hopefully not sack out on the job!

What’s to Become of Me?

That seems to be the question I was asked when I did an EVP session at a nursing home. A former employee resides there in spirit.

Getting questions like these puts all of this “ghost hunting” into perspective. These people are often stuck between the physical world and the world of spirit. They do not know how to move on. Perhaps they have missed the “white light bus” or more truthfully, missed the signs to draw them over… Fear often will keep them grounded. When you encounter a spirit that needs help, you are obligated to find a way to help them move on, whether you call someone in, or talk them over yourself. That is what I intend to do with Kaylee.

Kaylee was likely bi-polar in life, a manic depressive that just couldn’t live with it any longer. She ended her life. However, either guilt or lack of belief system has kept her grounded at her former workplace.

Many people die believing that they have done something too horrible to allow them to pass into “heaven” or “the other side.” This is simply not true. Only YOU can hold yourself apart from that. If you hang onto guilt, anger or any other negative emotion, you will keep yourself from the love and compassion of God and your loved ones who await your return. Nothing you do in life will ultimately prevent you from returning home. 

It is my feeling that this needs to be expressed to a grounded spirit. Once they realize this, it is a simple step into the light where comfort and joy await them.

That is what I want to do for Kaylee. It will be an honor to do that.

Attached here are the EVPs I collected. The first one is her answer of yes to who she is. The second is two knocks we asked for. The third is a clear “Nope” when asked to repeat the knocks. The forth is a sentence that seems to say, “What will become of me?” Then there is a “gasp” of sorts when we were discussing her family. The last is, “Help me cross.”

EVPs

Yes, I did get some interesting EVPs after Wednesday’s brief investigation.

I was able to identify the spirit of Kaylee. She answered yes to my question if she was here with us. I also got another one that is tough to figure out what is being said. Then I had a strange groan/growl sound that wasn’t threatening so much as it was just weird. We also go two knocks right next to the recorder. There was noise in the kitchen next door, but that was not coming through on the recording. The knocks were clear as day!

I will take some time today to listen carefully to see if I can decipher what’s on there. Then I’ll post them here and on the evidence page. This was a tough one since there were refrigerators and freezers nearby humming loudly.

Soon, I’ll go back for another round and hopefully be able to work in a quieter area. If it is the spirit of Kaylee, then I’m hoping to send her over so she doesn’t spend years existing in a cafe when she can be with her loved ones.

Bad jokes…

Ouija Nite appeared this morning reminding me that it’s Thursday. Wheeee!

I’m charging my camera batteries for this weekend’s Shanley Hotel Investigation.

I have some evidence to pour through from last night’s brief evp sweep of my husband’s place of employment. Apparently, a former employee haunts there. A few of the people who knew her joined me in asking questions. I could sense a presence which turned out to be the air conditioning… snicker. We attempted to get this one to activate the paper towel dispensers (which allegedly she does). No action. However, I’ll review the voice recorder later today… hopefully, this morning.

Today’s cartoon is a bad “knock knock” joke. When I’m in a funk regarding a Ouija cartoon, I lean toward this wealth of stupid humor. The only one I dredged up was this one… sad state of humor affairs! However, I let Merv point that out. He may be a bit burnt from his “hair band” days, but he’s spot on with this one. We all have moments of genius.

Kudos to Merv for saving my comic from the dire dregs of humor loss!

“Sideways” Dream Inspiration…

I tend to have prophetic or at least informative dreams.

The other night I had a very interesting dream. I found myself in the middle of the movie “Sideways” as a character or something other… During the dream I was attempting to figure out what the heck I was doing there.

At one point it occurred to me the lead character was writing a book and was basically sittin’ on his ass about it.

I woke up in the early a.m. and realized, I was sitting on my ass about my book. I am always amazed as how guidance shows up in my life. I must say, at least it’s entertaining.

Yes, I got off my ass and set it in front of the computer yesterday and began designing the first Entities-R-Us, Ghost Hunter Comic book.
