No haunting yet…

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 7, 2008 at 7:48 am

No sign of Mrs. Yanker missing her gun. I’ve not heard any rummaging or pacing about the house as of yet. I’ve also could have slept through it.

Just the usual old house creaks and a couple of mice scurrying in the walls. I fixed their wagon with a trap. Now I’m going to be haunted by ghost mice…

I’m back to drawing tonight after a trip for ink and bristol board. No spillage this time!

I may be sporatic with my posts since we’re restructuring out lives over here. Making changes for the better. Simplify, simplify, simplify!!!

I advise simplicity and non-attachment – divest with the excess and welcome the peace!

Garage Sale Zen

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 6, 2008 at 6:54 am

Yup. Survived the dreaded garage sale. Though I got rid of a lot of stuff, I still wound up with a neighbor’s lava lamp… HOW DO THESE THINGS HAPPEN?! I have to be careful what I manifest in my life… Some time ago I thought it would be amusing to have one of these devices. Now, I’ve got one. I’m supposed to sell it, but there were no takers of course. Instead, it wound up plugged in and snickered over a glass of wine with my co-conspirator, Sue.

Sue, helpful sort she is, decided to burn all the baskets that would not sell… and even sparked a purchase from a customer who was horrified that we were about to burn the “wooden cow” that had been lurking in my wood bin for over a decade. There is no accounting what people will do  for a “sacred cow”…

That very cow made me a dollar richer.

Alas, it’s back to cartooning. I should have more fodder since I actually sold the old lady’s gun (the old lady who haunts my house). She was quite upset and active when it had first gone missing. We had a lot of closet rummaging sounds going on until the gun was returned to the property after we had moved in. She settled down after that. Now I’ve up and sold it. It should be an interesting few weeks… I don’t think she’s noticed yet, or I’m just sleeping really well.

I’ll keep ya updated. Eat Cookies!

Garage Sale Hell

Yup, gonna do it again this year – Garage Sale El Grande… This is a major one. I’m ridding myself of all the stuff I just want to release into the world. It’s a cathartic experience to just purge house.

It’s my opinion that it will open new creative channels and cause a deluge of fabulous cartoons… and art.

Pray for me. (This is NOT one of my favorite activities, but I’m gonna make coffee (prana) so that will soothe the savage beast.

Big Ink Mess…

by Terri J. Garofalo on September 30, 2008 at 7:45 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

I finally did it, I dumped my ENTIRE bottle of ink all over the place last evening. I’m now in search of an antique school desk with an ink well… That should do it. After all this time I’m suddenly getting extra klutzy?! All I know is that I cannot ink any more ‘toons until I hit the art supply store.

This sucks. However, I did spare the comic – which is really good by the way.

Birds are bad for pencils…

by Terri J. Garofalo on September 29, 2008 at 7:54 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

No, I didn’t lose one this time. I’ve learned to stash them in un-bird-accessible places. I’ve lost a number of drawing pencils to Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbdore, my Eclectus parrot. He’s only two, and quite autonomous enough to go on rampages in pursuit of what strikes his fancy. Apparently pencils fit that bill.

The ironic thing is that nothing remains of the pencil except a pile of wood chips and graphite. Fortunately, he doesn’t seem to chew the graphite. Weeks later, I usually discover the eraser top, minus the eraser.

And I thought my old cats were destructive…

That’s it for Animal Wisdom today. It has nothing to do with cartooning. Ah well.
