Garrison House Experiences

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 28, 2012 at 10:23 am

IndyPara and Poughkeepsie Paranormal Investigators had quite a few interesting experiences at the Garrison House in Fort Montgomery, New York. The 1700s home, now a bed and breakfast, holds a ton of history dating back to the revolutionary war. Isaac Garrison built it before the revolution. It served as a home, restaurant, inn at various points in it’s existence.

The current owner had the impression a woman died during childbirth in this home. Records show a son born. But, it is not clear if the wife of Issac died during the birth or not. The famous Molly Corbin, the first woman to be given the medal of honor in battle, stayed there to recuperate from her injuries. The inn operated as a restaurant and coffee house during the time of prohibition – so you know they were serving bootleg liquor… Stories of apparitions seen at the top of the stairs, disembodied voices, covers being pulled off the beds of guests, are prevalent.

If you wish to go, check out the website for details. It’s a beautiful place. Garrison is near West Point and various tourist interests in the Hudson Valley. http://www.thegarrisonhouse.com

The comics which have been running about my paranormal team, IndyPara’s investigation, are based on actual experiences. Yes, we did try the infrared face camera goggles. This was the first test… somehow the data was lost, so Donna’s trip in the dirt crawl space was only for getting dusty. Nathan did break an old camera of his. He set it up and accidentally yanked a random cord causing it to crash to the ground. Ed did experience sadness in the blue room, as did Donna. However, he did not burst into tears… that was my comic license, a.k.a. exaggeration.

So, enjoy these.  I will run them until I get sick of writing about it. Coming soon is the Paranormal Valley episode of our ghost hunt is also on the way, so stay tuned!

I GOT THE JOB!

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 27, 2012 at 10:05 am
Posted In: Comic Industry, Entities Blog

Besides the paranormal distraction, I’ve been on a job search since my graduation from the Full Sail University Masters of Media Design program. I know the comics have been slow to appear each day, and I apologize for the inconsistency. It’s been a long time since I’ve been a month ahead of myself.

Yesterday, I landed a job after my first interview! Yeah, I’m shocked, but not… Nearly 30 years of experience in the design field has given me a certain amount of ability and confidence. These people really needed a professional to handle their work. So, I’m hoping to really bring them to the next level, improving their brand presence.

And so, I increase my hours and will now be traveling to Woodstock, New York every day. This is a perfect town for my hippie sensibilities! I need to update my wardrobe to hippie-professional… I wonder if TJ Max has that kind of attire on the discount rack… HA! And so, once more, I step into the roll of creative director.

My concern is the comic. My time management will need to ramp up. I won’t let you down, but I will be figuring it out. So, be a little patient with my timeliness. This week will be spent on getting ahead. After that, it will be maintenance. Also, with the extra cash, I will be able to do some fun things to ERU. So, this will be a good thing!

Everyone who reads this comic daily must know the amount of work that goes into it. I encourage you to make a donation now and then. The money does NOT go into my pocket, it goes to bettering the website, paying for hosting, and hopefully, hiring someone to really make this a better website, with more offerings. Gone are the days where cartoonists can make a living at drawing comic strips. The syndicates are all but dried up. The only comics they care about are Blondie, Beetle Bailey, and reruns of Peanuts. It’s a dying industry. But the webcomic industry is just beginning. So, we webcomic dudes need to figure out how to be profitable. So, if you love the comic, please spread the word or donate a buck to the cause. Every bit helps.

I am happy to give my humor to the world. It makes it a brighter place. I just want to make sure I don’t run out of gas in the process.

So, Eat Cookies, Hunt Ghosts and Read Comics!

Night Vision Face Googles… I mean Goggles! Sheesh

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 25, 2012 at 7:07 am

Yes, these exist! They are the brainchild of Felix Oliveri of Big Guy Media and the internet TV show, Paranormal Valley. IndyPara, my team, had the opportunity to try these out when we investigated the Garrison House in Ft. Montgomery, New York. We used them again at the Burn Brae Mansion recently. I tried them personally, while it was not much of a visual experience for me, hopefully everyone else will get to see more than I did! Hee hee…

I will delve deeper into the Garrsion history in a later post. Meanwhile, check out Paranormal Valley an the other programs Big Guy media produces. http://bigguymedia.com/

Thinking aloud…

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 22, 2012 at 10:09 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

As you may have noticed, I am a person who is never bored and always busy. Right now I am planning a major career move, so my time is limited. Entities-R-Us is one of a handful of comics which runs daily. Since my income must come from SOMEWHERE, I need to focus on bringing in cash so this comic can stay afloat.Which brings me to considering running ERU only six days a week instead of 7. The Sunday color would upload on Saturday, and I would take Sunday off.

Since you are the fans, I”m asking you how you feel about this. So, whaddaya think?

I pride myself on running a daily, so this stings my ego a bit. However, I need to make some concessions somewhere. I’ve already placed a limit on paranormal activities. Time management is crucial. While I can juggle a lot on my plate efficiently, it is not a healthy way to live.

This maneuver will also allow me to establish a proper shopping cart so you can buy books, etc directly from me. AND, I can make those website updates I’ve been jonesin’ to do.

Weigh in folks!

Cool EVP from IndyPara’s Elmendorph Inn Investigation

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 20, 2012 at 9:39 am
Posted In: Entities Blog, Paranormal Evidence

This EVP came up on my audio as well as my video recorder. It appears to be a young boy. I had a few EVP from this guy.

Check this out! EL-24-Welcome-CanAnyoneComeUpAndPlayUnderInTheMarkerRoomThisMorning

More will be posted later on the IndyPara website http://www.indypara.com. Some of the photo and video is already up for this one.

I have over 80 EVPs in the first hour alone. So, this is one active investigation! I still have 7 more hours to go. So, stay tuned!
