Jinn is an Middle Eastern concept… and not a misspelling of the liquor (gin). It is a pre-Islamic inferior divinity that can be either good or evil.

Wiki’s description makes them sound more like a nature spirit. Supposedly they eat and drink and procreate. They like to taste and smell things… If you feel “licked” you may have encountered a Jinn… or it has encountered you and felt the need to taste. They like crumbs and leftovers, so they’d make a good dog at the dinner table.

They prefer to hang out in deserted locations such as wastelands, cemeteries and gross places (going to the dump in the Middle East must be dicey). It can assume the forms of man or beasts. Many will live among men peaceably, but some are downright evil.

The evil jinn are pretty nasty buggers. They don’t back down to the usual crucifix. So, if you encounter one of these, it is likely to cause harm if it can, i.e. don’t mess with ’em.

This all presumes you are a person who believes in such things. If you don’t, you’ll never have to worry about it. If you do, or subconsciously consider the possibility, don’t hang out at the garbage dump in Pakistan.

Eat Cookies, Hunt Ghosts, Lay off the Jinn!
