Paranormal Bouncer

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 8, 2009 at 6:03 am

At the Shanley Hotel, a spirit has been seen guarding the entrance of the Men’s Club and Bordello rooms. Apparently, one had to be a member to enter there in the day.

We did hit some high EMF readings there. We also experienced the bathroom door closing (which is right off that entrance). AND, as a future comic will reveal, one of our team was locked in the Bordello Room. He blamed all of us at first. None of us went even near there… since he was tired and grumpy. AND, as I informed him, I did not know him well enough to play such a nasty practical joke on him – YET. I will add one had to really press that door in to close it, so it took some doing. We could not debunk that one.

As far as the comic goes, I can just imagine the fruitless task of bodiless bouncing. Without a physical presence, there is little an entity can do to prevent someone from entering. So, this guy must feel pretty ineffective.

Comic Situations

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 6, 2009 at 2:32 pm

The investigation of the Shanley yielded some amusing fodder.

Monday’s cartoon about the Paranormal Pajama Party was based on my arrival at the Shanley. I was confronted with a large sign on a blackboard that mentioned the following weekend’s Ladies Only (Paranormal) Pajama Party. I found this funny.

Tuesday’s cartoon about the “heavy feeling” is based on the sensations I experienced in my room, Room 4. A spirit is supposed to harass guests. The heavy feeling dissipated once I introduced myself. I guess I was welcome for I had not further experiences in that room… with the exception of faint knocks indicating it was okay for me to sleep there.

Wednesday’s cartoon is pretty much how I’d imagine a psychic would approach the plethora of spirits at the Shanley. I imagine they’d just jump right into conversation.

I won’t give Thursday’s away. All I have to say is “the regularly scheduled Ouija Nite has been preempted by” the Shanley Investigation. (At least it’s not the Presidential address…)

Enjoy!

Shanley Cartoons On Deck

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 5, 2009 at 6:15 am

Finally, the Shanley Hotel Investigation is yielding the cartoon evidence…

I am in the process of writing and drawing this series, so I am right on the cusp of coughing up fresh designs… or, uh, drawings rather. Since I’ve been busy with design work, etc., I’m still in that mode apparently.

Enjoy this series. It will include excerpts from the actual investigation I did with the Kentucky Paranormal Group. In fact, they will appear in this series as a MEGA Guest Draw. Anyone interested in reviewing evidence gathered at the Shanley can go to their website. kyparanormalgroup.com Some of it you can view here on the Shanley Investigation page.

The Kentucky Paranormal Group is affiliated with Queen City Paranormal which is putting on the Queen City Paracon in April of 2010.

Now, enjoy the humor!

Yes, Arno’s Hair Evolved from a Rabbit…

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 4, 2009 at 5:32 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

It WAS after some inadvertent comic archeology that I discovered why I drew Arno’s hair that way.

Wabbit Hutch was the first comic strip I invented back in 1978. Radar was one of the characters, a rabbit with exceptional ears. I must have drawn that character a million times… So, it was a natural thing to begin drawing Arno’s hair like that. I did not even realize it.

I was pretty surprised to figure that out. Finally, I’m putting it out in visual format so you all can see for yourselves. There also seems to be minor similarities with other characters I’ve drawn… subtle ones… Merv is actually much like a rabbit character I had called Punk. Punk was more of a deadbeat though. He had long ears as opposed to hair. Merv also takes a characteristic from another character called Winston. Winston hid behind glasses and showed virtually no expression. Merv hides in his hair until something freaks him out. Winston was a bit of an intellectual and used Latin phrases to seem important. I gave that quality to Vlad…

Arno, Erna and the rest are pretty unique though. These characters are their own deal. Merv is too, actually. The more I draw them, the more I learn about them. They seem to grow more dimensional with time. It’s as much of a mystery to me as it is to you. It’s like we are all getting to know these guys together.

That just goes to show that all of this comes from somewhere else beyond me. Even I have not idea what’s going on…

Erna’s visage comes from my hippie days… See below. Don’t freak out now…

Called It!

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 3, 2009 at 8:41 am

Did you ever get into a fight with your sibling over the front seat of the car? Usually the big decision maker was who “called it” first. That usually led to another discussion… by then Mom was pretty miffed.

The interesting thing is how many spirits hanging out in households perpetrate this behavior? I’ve heard of people getting headaches or cold feelings when they sat in a chair that was supposedly preferred by an entity. True or not? I don’t know.

However, it makes for a funny comic.
