One might think there is little room for possibility in the realm of the second dimension. I used to subscribe to that idea back in my days at the University of Hartford Art School. I tried my damnedest to resist two-dimensional art.
Taking lithography (a printing technique using a huge stone, drawing on it with crayons, applying water, ink and mashing it onto paper), I resorted to tearing apart the prints and sewing them into three dimensional boxes. This was pretty cool actually…
These days I have a new appreciation for the wonders of second dimension… With the comic strip, I can invent scenarios that our physical world just does not support – like paranormal, alien, laser holes through my characters which, for some whacked out reason do not hinder their existence whatsoever. HOW COOL IS THAT?!
Let’s just say I’m having a ripsnorting time in the second dimension. That’s where the party is right now.

All of you artsy types who want to self express at random… I’ve found the perfect website… or it found me rather. Drawmics is a place to create and/or upload comics of your own. You have to keep it original, clean and un-defamatory.
“Drawmics is a platform for expressing one’s thoughts through sketching/scribbling. Expressing emotions/thoughts through scribblng is the oldest form of art which has been there for a long time as evident from the cave paintings. Drawmics provides the tools to express the thoughts without feeling the lack of vocabulary to write.”

I found something else to draw… Merv Adventures will crop up now and then in the scheme of cartooning. Saturday’s comic is the first installment.
I just want everyone to be reminded – DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME!
It’s okay for Merv to abuse himself in a comic, but not okay for you to go and blow yourself up too!

I do a fair amount of spiritual reading. And this quote popped out today, even though I’ve read it before. Suddenly, at that moment it had meaning.
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”   —Lao Tsu
Thus is my journey creating this comic and growing its success.
Perhaps you can apply this to your own goals, dreams…

I love this cartoon… It came to me based on a UFO experience someone I know relayed to me. This fellow wound up outside his house in his skivvies… and his wife was pretty confused.
I’ve got a couple more ‘toons to this story line, so watch for ‘em!
Haste makes waste… I forgot to color in the “AUGH!” in PhotoShop. I just goes to show I should just get my brush out and ink it in by hand. Sheesh! Sorry for the inferior product.
I’ve really got to get my head out of the holidays… take down the Christmas ornaments in my sorry head.
