Comic Motivation…

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Of course I worked on Labor Day. HA! I also found time to pen out my Shanley investigation which will show up here shortly. Now I have to write a ton of comics.

Most of the ideas were mapped out yesterday. Today they need to be organized into a definitive plan and then put into drawings. But it’s 8am and I’m too tired to think about it… ;)

I’ve also got to run through some of my Shanley evidence before work.

So, you can see I’m about as motivated at a dog in the hot sun.

Even cartoonists complain sometimes!

Nocturnal Radio and Religious Coincidences

Monday, September 14th, 2009

I was on Steve Genier’s Nocturnal Frequency Radio last night. We had a great time talking comics, paranormal and Shanley Hotel investigation. In fact, the latter half of the program, Sal of the Shanley showed up to banter with us. All in all, it was an excellent show.

Check out the podcast at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Nocturnal_Frequency.

Also, interestingly enough, after Saturday’s religious discussion and Sunday’s resulting blog post, I realized that today’s comic ironically fit the situation perfectly! There are not accidents. I did not set that comic to appear today intentionally, it was a random post on my part, set up on Friday. (Insert Twilight Zone music here.)

I’m off for another busy day. Hopefully, I’ll get comics done and another batch of audio evidence reviewed.

ENTITIES-R-US IS 1 TODAY!

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Last year on September 18, 2008, Entities-R-Us, Ghost Hunter Comic made it’s debut.

As a treat I’m posting below a few of the In Spirit  comics that the Entities crew originated from… You’ll see the transformation in drawing, character, etc. Arno changed his name from Arlo and got smarter. Merv jumped a couple of I.Q. notches as well… And Woodsworth became our skeptic. I guess I need to draw a few more skeptic toons… haven’t used the dude in a while.

Yes, Arno’s Hair Evolved from a Rabbit…

Sunday, October 4th, 2009

It WAS after some inadvertent comic archeology that I discovered why I drew Arno’s hair that way.

Wabbit Hutch was the first comic strip I invented back in 1978. Radar was one of the characters, a rabbit with exceptional ears. I must have drawn that character a million times… So, it was a natural thing to begin drawing Arno’s hair like that. I did not even realize it.

I was pretty surprised to figure that out. Finally, I’m putting it out in visual format so you all can see for yourselves. There also seems to be minor similarities with other characters I’ve drawn… subtle ones… Merv is actually much like a rabbit character I had called Punk. Punk was more of a deadbeat though. He had long ears as opposed to hair. Merv also takes a characteristic from another character called Winston. Winston hid behind glasses and showed virtually no expression. Merv hides in his hair until something freaks him out. Winston was a bit of an intellectual and used Latin phrases to seem important. I gave that quality to Vlad…

Arno, Erna and the rest are pretty unique though. These characters are their own deal. Merv is too, actually. The more I draw them, the more I learn about them. They seem to grow more dimensional with time. It’s as much of a mystery to me as it is to you. It’s like we are all getting to know these guys together.

That just goes to show that all of this comes from somewhere else beyond me. Even I have not idea what’s going on…

Erna’s visage comes from my hippie days… See below. Don’t freak out now…
