Entities-R-Us Ghost Hunter Comic

A while back, I returned to my old house for some finally cleanup. With that, I decided to have another conversation with the resident spirit of John Cook. My group had done an investigation there. We got him on EVP answering yes to his name and reciting the name of another former owner, Elizabeth. These are on my Evidence page.

I did not review this evidence right way. It wasn’t critical, so I let it sit. Recently, my recorder just turned on to that clip for some reason. I figured it had to be the camera pressing on it. I assumed that was debunked. Then I smelled that smell of pipe smoke I used to smell in my old house… That also could be reasoned to have come from outside, though I saw no one with pipes in the vicinity. While I don’t consider this paranormal per say, I did consider it a sign I needed to dig into that recording of my re-visitation.

This visit, I was determined to send Mr. Cook home. I’m not keen on the idea of people sticking around for no good reason for 100s of years. I know I would think it sucked! I placed my recorder on the mantle in the attic bedroom where he usually hung out. I sat across the room on the floor so I wouldn’t interfere with the recording.

First I thanked him for being such a good host for the ten years we were there. I told him that I was honored to share the space with him. I asked him to knock in response to questions. The following is what I heard on the recording:

Did you like what we did to the house?: —Knock….”Yes.”

I talked about him crossing over to be with his family. I also mentioned the account our psychics determined of the angry spirit on the hill who had fallen from his horse and was buried on the hill against his wishes. I told Mr. Cook that it wasn’t his fault and that he was not responsible… With that I could sense an overwhelming feeling of grief washing over me… It was exceptionally powerful.

I then asked John Cook if he would cross over. He answered… “I am.”

Again I asked will you cross? He answered again, “I am.”

After that there was a feeling of utmost joy that was pretty much unbearable in the emotional sense. And he appeared to have gone.

THAT WAS THE SINGLE MOST POWERFUL EVP I’VE EVER HEARD. I was honored to be able to make this happen… especially to a good friend I had the pleasure of shacking up with for 10 years. A fitting thanks for allowing us to share his home.

I still feel the tears well up in the telling of this.
