BSPHI Newsletter is out…

by Terri J. Garofalo on June 3, 2009 at 6:45 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

For those of you who are interested in all things paranormal and could use a little literature to spark your day, check in on Gene Lafferty of Buckeye State Paranormal Investigations, LLC’s monthly newsletter.

This issue’s topic is the origins of the term “Witching Hour”… and, for those who haven’t connected the dots, the comic of the day is about such things. This comic also appears in the BSPHI newsletter.

So, catch up on a little paro-info and enjoy your day. It’s better than your average bathroom read!

And, I was labeled as TWISTED… aww shucks. Wouldn’t be the first time.

You can find it all right here: http://bsphinews.icontact.com/newsletters/bsphi

Enjoy! Now I’ve got to catch up on some comics.

New Character – Investigator in Training

by Terri J. Garofalo on June 2, 2009 at 6:34 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

I would like to introduce Vera, investigator in training for Entities-R-Us, Ghost Hunters. You may recognize her from the comic about energy vampires that ran a couple weeks ago. (search energy vampire)

Originally, I created her specifically for that comic. There came that dull tap at the backside of my brain hinting at further development. The real kick off was sparked  by Gene Lafferty of BSPHI who wanted a cartoon specific to an article in his newsletter about “witching hour.” That led me to give Vera the identity of a Wiccan… which I’m sure will add an interesting ingredient to the Entities mix.

Keep a lookout for a character profile for Vera. I’ve yet to give her a last name. About the only thing I have given her, besides a Wiccan persuasion, is a hot temper and an expectation of being persecuted.

Comic strips seem to thrive on a little volitility… 😉 Besides, I’m always up for a good hockey fight!

Read Up! Enjoy!

Paranormal Underground sports another comic

by Terri J. Garofalo on June 1, 2009 at 12:03 pm
Posted In: Entities Blog

Yes, another cartoon is appearing in this month’s Paranormal Underground! This one is an older ones, but it’s hysterical! Definitely the humor is a fav… the coloring is a little much, but that was Entities at the inception before I toned it down and got serious in the Photoshop dept… less is more.

On another hysterical note… Check out the comments (bottom of the page where it says comments – I always wonder where they are). My brother gave his two-cents on Monday’s ghost sheet comic. He’s actually funnier than I am. I’m the “straight-guy” of the family… snicker.

Thought you all might enjoy a good “hoot-nanny” whatever the hell that is…

Ghosts and sheets

by Terri J. Garofalo on June 1, 2009 at 6:43 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

Who was it that first decided ghosts looked like people covered in sheets? Anyone who has seen an apparition or photos of such would not mistake it for a sheet-covered hominid. Perhaps this is because I’m a visual sort and see details more distinctly than others.

Beyond that thought, I always think of Charlie Brown wearing a “fitted” (the one that goes around the mattress) sheet for his ghost costume… When you used the fitted version, you lose that nice cool, ghostly flow of a regular sheet. The fitted sucker bunches around your ankles like a bad fashion statement. Which is EXACTLY why I always used them for Toga parties in college. A good dorky fitted-sheet toga was an excellent conversation piece. Always go for the humor… you can’t get any better advice from me!

Once again, the ghost of Carl is suffering from self-esteem issues, this time about being seen. His apparition ability isn’t where it ought to be. And so, bring on the sheet – it’s a great solution to his dilemma. The problem lies in that he was not choosing his fitted sheet for comedic reasons… Sadly, he just nerds out.

Carl will one day get over himself, but then the cartoon will lose it’s humor. So, we can’t have that yet!

Laugh it up! Enjoy!

Rockin’ out to EVPs

by Terri J. Garofalo on May 31, 2009 at 6:58 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

This Sunday’s comic was inspired by that commercial where they guys are a all lined up rockin’ out to tunes in the music store, flinging their hair back and forth. This brings back amusing memories of being a L’Amour’s in Brooklyn in the 80s. It was a curious time observing that slice of society. I would have needed a chiropractor sooner if I had participated fully…

Merv, of course, is of that mindset. So, it was a logical thing to have him take up rockin’ to EVPs. Arno is confused. He’s not sure that Merv is actually going through paranormal evidence or just tuning in to his IPod.

Question is, what is Merv REALLY listening to?

I’d like to think it’s some wild piece of evidence that is going to rock the paranormal world.
