Websites worth the perusal

Twittering around the other day I discovered International Paranormal Acknowledgment Awards website. Of course I had to investigate. It’s an interesting informative site that anyone involved in the field of ghost hunting ought to join. Not only is is chocked with useful information, it stocked with many of the top guns in the field. You can also vote for your favorites. Check it out: http://www.ipaawards.org/

I signed up for IPAA and within minutes made a connection with Gene Lafferty of Buckeye State Paranormal and Haunting Investigators, BSPH. He does a newsletter that is very interesting. He asked if Entities-R-Us would like to participate. I have agreed. I’m even going to do some article specific cartoons. Thunderstorms get in the way…

Looks like the weather put the kibosh on our investigation. Apparently, ghost hunting in the open during a lightning storm is a better way to JOIN the paranormal rather than investigate it.

I can just picture the reading on the EMF when lightning strikes. That would be one heck of a reading! Actually, you may notice the abrupt rise and be able to dive to the ground out of harms way before it hits… Well, okay, the proper thing to do is bend over and make you butt the highest point, that way you don’t toast your brain. It still will hurt like hell, but you might live to tell the tale.

Better safe than struck dead, that’s why I always say.

Investigation cancelled…

I guess I have to eat my blog. Our group bailed on the Kent Cliffs Investigation. We’ll likely get to it in the future. I guess the lure of Memorial Day barbecues did it in.

I could always make up an alien abduction story for tomorrow. What the heck? It would be hugely funny. I would just have to declare it fiction.

I will cartoon that idea anyway. I don’t need physical inspiration to open the creative conduit. I can do that any time. Nice to be a conduit to allow the funny to enter this world. I’m honored to do it.

Sunday’s comic about my own shortcoming

I had a laugh a while back while perusing paranormal possibilities on EVP. I discovered that my propensity to hum had carried over into an investigation. While I wasn’t humming Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit” or anything significant, I was definitely contaminating evidence.

Now that I’m aware that I can annoy even myself, I will guard against and quiet concerts.

At least some good humor came out of it!

Investigating Kent Cliffs

This weekend my group, ORB has the opportunity to investigate the town of Kent Cliffs.

Sporting chambers made by the Druids around 2,000BC and 150AD (Chris Columbus, you were beaten to the punch!), Kent seems like an interesting place, haunted or not. Sightings reported at the larger chamber are of a “red phantom”, as well as Viking-like apparitions (ah, my character Thor’s origins!) and small dwarfs in hooded robes (residual energy from The Wizard of OZ).

The town itself is known for its UFO sightings. Magnetic anomalies have been recorded. There are stories of ghostly sightings of cloaked sorts and alien creatures on Magnetic Road. Alien hitchhiking? This is probably listed in the Hitchhikers Guide… I’ll look for graffiti that says “Zaphood was here.”

This has the makings of a really interesting case. I’m looking forward to it. I just can’t wait to sit in a cave and wait for something to show up. Bring on the bats! (One of these days I’ll blog about the family bat story… classified as a “Naked Dad in Crisis” tale – got a couple of these. Dad seems to be in the tub every time an emergency crops up.) (Sorry, Mom. I can’t resist.)

Guess I better clear out a couple of cards for the camera… If I don’t return, you’ll know I’ve been abducted. Fear not, I can hold my own against aliens.

btw: At Barnes & Noble last night, I opened a book that happened to have an account of the hauntings at Kent Cliffs – Ironic, don’t ya think?
