Expired Holy Water…

by Terri J. Garofalo on May 2, 2009 at 6:02 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

What does happen when Holy Water goes bad?

I thought this was an amusing concept. I can just see a Catholic Priest wandering into the storeroom and inspecting the expiration dates on all the bottles of holy water.

Better to cast out the demons than cast them on to unsuspecting worshipers.

Hey, it’s worth a snicker!

Hans Holzer passes

by Terri J. Garofalo on May 1, 2009 at 7:25 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

Renowned paranormal investigator, Hans Holzer gained firsthand experience of the other side when he passed on April 29, 2009 at the age of 89.

He was noted for his investigations of haunted houses, including the Amityville Horror home. Holzer wrote over 140 books on various phenomena including ghosts, witchcraft to extraterrestrials. He was a consultant for the Leonard Nemoy series, In Search Of.

He spoke of ghosts to Nemoy on an interview, “After all, a ghost is only a fellow human being in trouble.” Specifically, a human who has died in traumatic circumstances, does not realize he or she is dead and is, as he told the Web site OfSpirit.com in 2003, “confused as to their real status.”*

Holzer was interviewed by Jeff Belanger in 2005. You can read the article on the Ghost Village website: http://www.ghostvillage.com/legends/2005/legends35_02072005.shtml.

Of paranormal investigations the article said:

Paranormal investigative groups are popping up everywhere. More people are studying this field today than ever before, and Holzer has met many of them. “We are living in a technological age,” he said, “and they [paranormal investigators] think, or at least some of them that I’ve met, in all sincerity, that running around with geiger counters and cameras and instruments that can measure cold spots will be the way to investigate a haunting or a ghost. That’s bullshit. Because if you really are an investigator of the paranormal, and you’re dealing with ghosts or hauntings, you’re dealing with a human being – nothing more, nothing less. Therefore you should have with you a good trancemedium who can lend her body or his body temporarily for that entity to speak through so you can find out what the trouble is. That’s the way it works – not a geiger counter.”

“But certainly a geiger counter is more accessible than a good trancemedium for most people,” I said.

“And it looks more professional to them,” Holzer said. “But it really is bullshit.”**

You gotta love Holzer for that one! I’ve always said, “You can’t prove the spiritual with the physical.”

Bless you Dr. Holzer. I hope you are swing dancing away on the other side. See you soon!

One more mishap…

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 30, 2009 at 3:32 pm

Okay, I thought all the minor disasters were over with. Today, my plasma TV tanked it. It’s an older version, but that’s no excuse!

I could look at this as a big batch of negative energy moving through, demons, whatever… However, I’m going to try a different take on all of this.

Let’s begin with the closet collapse. This little event, while annoying, forced me to sort out my closet for better usability… something I really needed to do.

Now, the refrigerator freeze-up caused me to remind my landlord that we need a doorbell desperately. Today, I have a new doorbell that reminds me of the opening to that Paul McCartney song, “Let ’em In.” Cool.

The plasma disintegration will likely lead to us actually getting an HD TV in an LCD version which is more energy efficient. Meanwhile, I’ll use my little, portable flat-screen we bought for business purposes. At least we have that!

So, perhaps all this nonsense is leading to better things.

Now that’s top notch thinking!

Negative Energy Runs Amok

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 29, 2009 at 7:41 am

Something’s up… It all began with a neighbor harboring two a.m. television tendencies. No big deal, just a minor issue and a need for understanding – solved.

Following that was the big closet cave-in. The main closet shelf supports decided to retire, thus sending the entire wardrobe and all the pillows, blankets, etc into an avalanche. I was in the vicinity and had the crap scared out of me.

Today the fridge decided to freeze to death. The repair fellow is at it now with his trusty hair dryer.

Then I managed to dump a whole pack of frozen veggies all over the counter and floor.

So, is this a bout with some negative energy, probably introduced by the new tenant? Or is it something that “just is”?

I didn’t fool around. I saged the place. Things are looking up.

It pays to be supersitious.

Ghost Sightings Website & The Wandering Spirit of Poughquag

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 27, 2009 at 7:27 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

I discovered an interesting website while “googling” around yesterday – Ghosts of America. It is a site that lists assorted ghost sightings across the country by town. You can click on any state as see a complete list of towns with information on ghost stories that occurred there.

http://www.ghostsofamerica.com/

I was interested in checking out my previous digs in Poughquag, NY. It listed nothing regarding my house. However, one spirit sighting piqued my interest, causing me to recall an event that happened at another location I resided at.

Apparently, there is a spirit in town that goes from residence to residence on an avenue in Poughquag. They did not list the road. At one point I rented an old home that was once a school house. I hadn’t experienced any paranormal activity there. I did get an odd picture of a wisp of light and wasn’t sure if it was car lights from outside or something unworldly. That’s off the topic…

One night, I got up from bed to head downstairs for my usual gratuitous drink of water. At the top of the stairs, as I began my descent, I was treated to a flash of light that appeared as a candle, then flashed brilliantly, took off through the living room for the front door and was gone.

I have never backed down to the ghost before, but I took several steps back up the stairs, considerably spooked, and called for my husband. I then whipped on a light and immediately investigated the light switch for electrical problems. That turned up nothing. There was no evidence that it was ball lightning. It wasn’t a balmy night.

It looked, of all intents and purposes, as if I surprised someone who wandered off the street and was busy looking out the window on my landing. It, subsequently, turned around, saw me, then freaked for the door.

I cannot explain what it was. I have no proof it was a ghostly visitor. More signs seem to point to that than not. The little story of the wandering spirit in Poughquag certainly adds to the circumstantial evidence. If someone could confirm that a visiting ghost wanders down Gardner Hollow Road, then my story will get even better. Meanwhile, I just chock it all up to another possible paranormal experience.

What do you think?

Mysteriously,

Tj
