Hey Gang!

by Terri J. Garofalo on November 21, 2011 at 9:23 pm

Yeah, I know… I’ve been busy putting out fires and starting new ones…  Thanksgiving is upon us! WooHOO! The ghost hunting is slowing up a bit, which is imperative if I’m to get anything else done. I’ve gone through hours of evidence and gleaned a ton of EVPs. I’m up to my ears in my Master Degree program at Full Sail University. I should be graduating in March. I’m looking forward to a breather.

I want to put a new t-shirt line together before the holidays. It’s a scary bit of time-lack that has me worried. I’m working at making sure you all have a comic to read each day. It’s been a struggle.

A nice hot Lotto win would free me up to pay more attention to this blog and the comic. Somehow, it’s not important that it doesn’t bring in any money. I’m just happy to put it out there into the universe for you all to enjoy. I’m just sorry that I have to work my ass off to stay afloat. It certainly cuts into the creative time.

One of my lifetime goals is to put to rest the idea that artists are always starving. If that is to happen, the world has to change it’s view of art. Many European countries subsidize their artists so they can bring beauty into the world without the pressure of wondering when someone is going to throw them a crust of bread. Here in America, we cut funding to the arts, dismiss it from our schools and let our artists resort to graffiti to get their creative “rocks” off.

How we treat our artists is how we regard beauty and pleasure in our lives. Today we work 70 hour weeks, are too tired for vacations or pleasure… so we never see the good in anything. We never smell the roses or watch the sun set… and so we diss the artists.

Artists need to create. Between work, school, freelance jobs, etc. I must work at least 70 hours a week. THEN, I do this comic strip. Oh, and I also need to exercise my horse… and I haven’t included ghost hunting. So, where are my priorities? I feel bad for my spouse! Supplying the world with humor is a far greater motive for my spirit than crunching numbers in a back room, far from an audience to entertain.

All of you should stop and look at your surrounds. What is around you in this world? What are you missing? How much of what you see was designed by artists? We need to consider how much is brought into this world by artists. Did you know Steve Jobs was a design student? How beautiful are the Apple products?! Think about that. It makes you feel good when you hold in your hand a utilitarian device that looks gorgeous!

It’s about feeling good. We all should feel good. We all should laugh and enjoy the world around us.

It begins with appreciating your artists and what they bring to the table.

Sketch Comics

by Terri J. Garofalo on November 13, 2011 at 9:33 am

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been fooling around with alternative styles. I hope you don’t mind. I like to experiment. It may lead to some really neat comics in the future. This Sunday’s is a colored version of the pencil drawn comics I’ve been running. It needs work, but I like the roughness of the concept. There is something natural about joke that just shoot out into the world, so the rough cartoon expresses that impulsiveness.

Feel free to give feedback. Even if you don’t like it, I’m willing to hear about it. After all, this is an experiment!

Enjoy! 🙂

More Psychic Drawings

by Terri J. Garofalo on November 10, 2011 at 5:16 pm

Here are the more of the drawings I did on the last investigation. I’ve never put much stock in channeling through my pencil, however, the results were certainly interesting. I will explore this further. It was somewhat disturbing. The feelings I felt were not my own. There was an anxiety present that I could not account for. That aspect of this was not enjoyable for me. I’ll still do it, but I can’t say it will be pleasant for me. Some of the drawings depict a tragic event. As I was drawing them, the K2 meter went wild.

You can tell in these pict that I’m somewhere else…

Psychic Jonny Angel watches the K2, while Terri zones over psychic drawing during investigation with IndyPara.

These are the drawings…

This one came through with great sadness.

The one above set the K2 meter off the charts when I drew it.

This one above looks like the owner of the home.

There was an unaccounted for murder/cover-up that happened here, according to the psychic, the Ovilus, and a dream the owner had. I still need to go through the evidence. While we cannot scientifically conclude this is true, it is interesting how much of it ties together. I want to go back and see if we can locate the grave psychically. It would be interesting to prove it after all this time. It might cause the spirits in this home to finally find rest.

The older woman above was identified as grandma to the current owners.

The word hammer came up on he Ovilus as well. I drew a few hammers. When we asked it that was the murder weapon, the K2 lit up like a Christmas tree. The guy in the upper left was identified as the current owner’s husband. I have never met him. Below him is her son. I did meet him. But, I did not intend to draw him. Thought I was drawing a woman, but it did look like the boy after I studied it.

I drew a hillside with a rock and trees. We asked if the woman was buried on the hill, the K2 lit up for a yes response.

This one was hard to draw… painful. I was compelled to draw the corner of the room by the fireplace. I saw blood on the floor and the wall. Note the axe by the fireplace…

The lower half of this drawing I can only guess is dirt or earth… I’ve no clue why or what I drew.

The drawing of the guy with the forward hair looks a little like Nathan Schoonover, our team member. The woman on the left below him looks like Brittany, the camera girl for BGM. The owner thought the older woman with the bun looked like her mother-in-law. Those objects below… I’m not sure, but I think they are inkwells with quill pens.

The right is a repeat of above. The woman on the left was identified as the owner’s sister-in-law, who is still living. Now, I have not met any of her family…

This compares a photo I had not seen before I did this drawing. I had seen others, just not this one. Guy looks pretty simlilar...

It was an interesting experiment for sure. How conclusive it is, I don’t know.

I leave you with “Evil Me.” This photo was taken of me in a closet with my pad and pencil. There was a lot of energy in there. I even heard an audible “oohh” of a woman.

Evil me... I guess I was about to impale the photographer with my pencil. I was warded off with garlic.

And now for a test of the emergency broadcast system…

by Terri J. Garofalo on November 9, 2011 at 1:17 pm

I am waiting for the test of the emergency broadcast system. I can’t wait to see the vintage “60s” guy and the lame-ass production of this antiquated gov’t of ours. THIS IS 2011…. HELLOOOOOOO?! Can’t we design something more POST MODERN at least?! Sheesh! No wonder this country has gone to the dogs… Wait. I’m insulting dogs. They’re so much smarter than politicians and gov’t stooges.

I posted this on FB… and I felt is was funny enuff to post here. So, have a snicker!

Psychic Drawing

by Terri J. Garofalo on November 6, 2011 at 6:30 pm

I tried something new during last night’s paranormal investigation, psychic drawing. I am an artist, but I have never done anything like that before. Since we were filming for Paranormal Valley, I thought it might add some flavor… and possibly make me look like an ass! What happened was totally unexpected.

We have a new addition to IndyPara, my team, Johnny Angel, a psychic from our area. He fit right in with the crew and has immediately added another dimension to the group. We now have a well rounded base from skeptics to psychics. How cool is that? John allowed us to tie together psychic impressions, my drawing, the iOvilus and the K2 meter. We had some amazing connections that jived with historic information as well as dreams the owner had about the residing spirit.

I still have evp evidence to go through to confirm what went on. I find this will be the glue to hold it together. Half of our team had experiences, the other half has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING go on… It was really weird. The entities followed my drawing. They responded on the K2 about it. They answered positively to using the Ovilus… in fact, they preferred it! It was a bizarre night!

Below are some of the drawings I conjured. I say conjured as it was like channeling. I have no idea what prompted some of these. Many of these people do not look like the photos of people I was shown before hand. Also, a story was unearthed about a murder and cover up. I’m not sure how much truth can be put to this, but the psychic, K2 and Ovilus info indicated it… also, the owner had a dream about it, which she told to us after John mentioned it.

We picked up on a young woman, an older woman, a nasty man, a little girl, and grandma.

Here’s some of the drawings I did while sitting on a rock in the basement. I’m just glad I’m not claustrophobic… I would post more, by  my scanner is not talking to me. I must have insulted it. I’ll add more later after I reboot.
