Self Portrait with Coffee at Comic Con.

Friday I journeyed to New York City  for the annual Comic Conference. I chose to go during professional hours to scope the scene for next year when I’ll bring Entities-R-Us to it.

I met some awesome folks, including Brad Guigar from Evil Inc. and one of the coauthors of How to Make Webcomics. Loads of networking and meeting with my peers… hanging out with my pal Donna from Haunted Hudson Valley… taking it all in… and getting completely overwhelmed… – that was the day.

I did meet up with a twitter pal, SurfsideJack or John McCarthy, another cartoonist. He recognized the hat and the Entities-R-Us shirt. He said I look just like my avatar on Twitter. Snicker… that was the plan.

If you have a chance to check out a comic conference please do! There is no better place to people watch… with the exception of a carnival. If you want to draw amusing characters, inspiration abounds!

I went for the express purpose of spawning ideas for how I would approach a conference, what kinds of products I would sell, how to display it all… yada yada.

Here’s a glimpse!
