Gettysburg Ghosts

by Terri J. Garofalo on June 22, 2009 at 6:19 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

The next three cartoons deal with ghosts of Gettysburg, PA. This was probably one of the single most destructive battles in our nation’s history. Of course it’s full of ghosts… lots of lives passed in horrific fashion.

A war like that leaves a major imprint on the land. There is a lot of residual haunting evidence, as well as intelligent versions too. What is fascinating is that we tend to like to recreate the circumstance with live reenactments. Personally, I have not interest in “playing” war… However, some folks are quite reverent about it.

What about the spirit activity? These guys were living humans once. Perhaps they would like to reenact it again as well? Why not? So, what if the hauntings of Gettysburg are just a bunch of spiritual reenactors?

Now that’s an interesting concept!

BTW: classic comic mistake… I misspelled reenactor in the cartoon. Pays to get out the dictionary! Gotta own that one!

Indigo Children

by Terri J. Garofalo on June 21, 2009 at 6:57 am

Appropriate for Father’s Day is the Indigo Children comic… it might just explain the insanity of one’s household.

Instead of going on to an entire dissertation on Indigo kids, I’m going to refer you to BSPHI’s newsletter that deals with that topic. http://community.icontact.com/p/bsphinews You’ll recognize the cartoon…

You can call it laziness,  but if you were in my birkenstocks this week, you’d be glad to open the lungs for a breather! As it stands, the in-laws have invited themselves over, which means a huge cleanup of the surrounding area, and emotional prep for the energy vampiring activities that ensue with such company. They are loads of fun, but EXHAUSTING!

FYI, I don’t mind unannounced visitors, they bring unexpected joy into my home. It keeps me from being eternally immersed in my work. So, anyone who cares to invite themselves and is not a stalker, will at least get a view of my Hallway Art Gallery.

Happy Dad’s Day to all the Dads Out There!

Enjoy,

Tj

Elementals, What Are They?

by Terri J. Garofalo on June 20, 2009 at 6:17 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

There is lots of definitions for elemental. They are folkloric in nature, supposedly being formed by the elements of air, fire, water, Earth.

Wiki says:

“An elemental is a mythological being first appearing in the alchemical works of Paracelsus. Traditionally, there are four types:[1]

  • gnomes, earth elementals
  • undines, water elementals
  • sylphs, air elementals
  • salamanders, fire elementals.”

According to Sylvia Browne from her book Phenomenon:

“The theory behind the ancient myth of the existence of elementals goes like this. The earth is made up of four elements: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Earth and Water are believed to be female-energy elements. Fire and Air are believed to be male-energy elements.

Inhabiting each of these elements are spirits of nature called Elementals. They’re impossible to describe, since they don’t have a form or appearance of their own. But if they care to they can take the shape of animals or humans and walk among us, soulless and deceitful, seducing unsuspecting humans for the purpose of conceiving and bearing children. Julius Ceasar and Hercules were among those rumored to be offspring of Elementals.”

Now I know that all the Julius Ceasar I had to translate in Latin class was the product of Elementals trying to make my life hard. Go figure?! What was responsible for Cicero? That’s what I want to know… Ironically, Homer - The Illiad & Odssey sits next to my ghost books.

Elementals were accused by ancient cultures for being responsible for earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic activity. They have also been rumored to attach themselves to us regular folk as little negative energies. Apparently one can cleanse these suckers off with mild electrical current or by scraping them off with piano wire. (How anyone arrived at the piano wire idea is beyond even my super creative mind… Why not telephone wire or computer cable – twisty ties after you scrape the paper off?)

Sylvia Browne says she doesn’t believe in them.

I tend to agree with her. The Earth is a living thing that moves and shifts at will, and at our expense sometimes. Little creatures aren’t doing it… I do think one can attract negative energies, but these are manufactured by US from our own mind-stuff. Thoughts are things and bad ones make bad things or lousy feelings.

In the end… do we really know what an elemental is? Funny how cartoons can be so deep without even digging.

Enjoy, don’t think too much!

My First Apparition

by Terri J. Garofalo on June 19, 2009 at 5:02 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

Today’s cartoon makes light of a very poignant event, seeing my first apparition.

Back in the 90’s, I wrapped up a hockey chat show on AOL around 9pm. I headed out to the kitchen for a gratuitous glass of water. As I finished up, I gazed over my dining table and saw the apparition of my brother-in-law. His arms were crossed at his waist and he was looking pensively at me.

It wasn’t a hazy mist, nor was is truly physical. I haven’t found a great way to explain it other than it seemed to be an energetic impression of him. I wouldn’t be surprised to discover I had only seen it with my “third eye” – though it was a real visual impression.

For lack of any better idea, I just smiled at him and did a little salute. I wheeled around an toodled off to bed quickly, dove into the covers and put the pillow over my head. “What had I just seen?” He wasn’t dead as far as I knew at the time. He’d been sick and we didn’t expect him to survive. But, you never expect a 33-year-old to cross over.

The next morning, I got a call at work from my husband. My brother-in-law had passed around 9pm, when I saw him.

Told ya it was poignant. I will write up a full account of it for the ghost stories section of this site.

Ghost Writer…

by Terri J. Garofalo on June 18, 2009 at 5:46 am

Thursday’s Ouija Nite is a direct idea from my brother Peter, Petudi as I like to call him!

Growing up with him is kinda like living with Seinfeld. His expressions are virtually the same. He’s a hell of a lot funnier than I am. He has the ability to keep a straight face when making a joke where I just bust out laughing.

The odd thing is, I’m the one who opted for a humor career. Go figure?

Anywho, I’m giving him full credit for this and the next Ouija Nite. While I’ve already used the Atomic Wedgie in another paranormal situation, it doesn’t hurt to do it again… especially since one of my biggest google terms to lead folks to Entities is Atomic Wedgie. WHO GOOGLES ATOMIC WEDGIE? I’ve gotta meet these people…

AND!!! The latest BSPHI Newsletter has been released. Get a good view of Sunday’s cartoon before it happens! (Nothing like spoilin’ my own fun!) This newsletter is worth it. Learn about Indigo Children! Find it here: http://community.icontact.com/p/bsphinews

Enjoy!
