Coffee Grounds vs. Tea Leaves

I had an interesting conversation on Twitter (the Great Twit, I like to call it) with someone who would read coffee grounds and soda. Of course the great light bulb appeared above my head and I just had to make a cartoon about it.

This is one of those times I’m glad to have a psychic on board with Entities-R-Us. Who else would have the inclination to read coffee grounds? Erna, a fan of Prana, life-force… i.e. coffee, was up to the task.

Reading coffee can’t be any less legit than reading tea… Hey, people used to (some still do) read chicken entrails. yick…

One of these days we might just evolve.

Meanwhile, I’m going to examine the grit patterns on the bottoms of my Birkenstocks. If I have any revelations, I’ll be sure to blog about it. Weeeee! I don’t think there is any chance I’m going to pour over the gizzards in the packet that comes out of the Oven Stuffer Roaster any time soon.

I found this poem in The Psychic Adventures of Derek Acorah,by Derek Acorah. I thought it was worthy of a read for all of you. It is indicative of what all we ghost hunters are attempting to understand, that everyone eventually slips just to the other side of the veil from where we dwell now.

Defining Moment of Character…

Today’s cartoon sort of square-pegs Merv into his round hole in society. We all knew he was a little left of center, far left… However, if Ozzy Ozbourne finds you strange, you know you’re tweaked.

The good thing is, it doesn’t bother Merv in the least. He’s quite comfortable in his odd skin. We like that, for he adds a certain “mystique” to the Entities crew. How many paranormal teams do you know sport a former hair-band roadie? He’d never survive an episode with Ghost Hunters. Jay would kill him.

Stay tuned for tomorrows color Sunday strip. I forgot which one it is, but I know it’s a doozie!

Paranormal State & Non-Rabbit TV

Everyone has been getting after me to pick on the TV ghost hunter show, Paranormal State. Well, you got your wish.

All of us fervent fanatics of features of haunted content know that this show is chock-a-block full of demons and nasties. Wherever they go, something rude lurks in the shadows. They add a unique perspective on the paranormal as well as help out people who are really in dire straits with the spirit world… not a task I would willingly sign up for!

Of course, the Entities crew are fans, fans of just about every bit of paranormal programming. It’s time for popcorn and demonics! This is Vlad’s fav for sure, demonologist that he is. Erna busies herself scouting the techniques of Chip Coffey and the various psychics who grace the show.

Segue to the TV – Once again I have to complain about television going exclusively digital. Gone are the rabbit ears I loved to draw in my comics. Those meant TV to me. Of course, being from the Later Cretaceous Period, I’m a little dated. I still catch myself drawing telephones that look like old dial-ups.

I have resigned myself to embrace, reluctantly, the 21st century and give the Entities crew a plasma TV… which will break down in 7 years, as mine did, and cost more than 2 TV’s worth to repair. (I replaced mine with LCD - Hi-def mind you! All of you will be shocked that I am moving beyond the era of Model T’s. I WILL NOT DO BLU RAY! I WILL NOT DO BLU RAY!) And so, you will note the disclaimer on the back of the TV – which draws like a “gold-derned rat blastard BOX!” – VERY UNINTERESTING! Backs of TV’s used to be more fun… Instead, they just give off hi-EMFs that bother the heck out of me when I get too close.

Okay, I’ll cease the resistance and head out into the sunset drawing more cartoons indicative of the 21st century that I’ve inadvertently found myself immersed in.

Ghost Hunters Night Out

It’s Thursday again… Ouija Nite for our Entities crew again… and AGAIN, I am going to expound on the dangers of using a Ouija board.

Ouija is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re gonna get. And, what you could get is far worse than stale coconut. The spirit world is full of all sorts. Just because you die, doesn’t mean you improve your personality. Spirits who move on and don’t linger here are likely to be the more honorable of the bunch. Those that stick around, less so.

When you invoke spirits through a Ouija, spirit board or seance, you open portal for them to contact you, latch on to you… you invite them into your life. If you think about it, who would latch onto you in life, stick to you like glue, stalk and harass you? - People with issues who are looking to mess you up. There are spirits out there who have the same desires. They don’t care who you are, you are just there and available to play with.

So, my advice is to stay away from the Ouija. If you really look at the Ouija Nite cartoons with Entities-R-Us, you’ll find the characters generally run amok with demons and nasties. Carl and Thor are benign for the most part, but they too lie to and fool with the Ouijiers.

Just keep that in mind. Enjoy the antics and promise me you’ll never mess around with that stuff. It’s okay for the Entities office to be haunted with imps, nasties and angry ghosts, but don’t you go down the same turnpike!

Eat Cookies, Hunt Ghosts, Avoid Trouble!
