NEW EVPs from My Home Investigation

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 11, 2009 at 11:23 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

I finally had a chance to go through some of the evidence collected from the investigation on my former home. I’m now using some cool EVP software, AVS Audio Editor, that made the job much easier… also, I dug out a pair of headphones so I wouldn’t rile up my parrots.

Check these out at the bottom of the Paranormal Evidence Page. A few of them were unidentifiable, I’ve only included two of these. One has a breath that wasn’t an investigators. Others are the knocks we heard in responses to questions. It was nice to find out that the John Cook haunting my bedroom was the one that would emit pipe smoke occasionally.

The most significant EVP was one that says the name, Elizabeth, twice! Elizabeth Yanker was the former owner I suspected was haunting the place. I’m not sure this is her voice or someone that knows her. It seems male to me. I’m assuming this was the same one who responded a “yes” knock to whether they were angry I sold Mrs. Yanker’s old gun…

The last one is really a spoof… it was the stomach growl of one of our investigators. Yes, this was the inspiration for the stomach growl cartoon.

Listen up and enjoy!

P.S. I still have the barn evidence to go through. We’ll see if that yields anything.

Ghost Hunting Books

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 10, 2009 at 9:28 am

I want to do a shout out to a couple of reads I have found worthwhile to those interested in paranormal research…

Ghost Hunting by Jason Hawes & Grant Wilson – These are the Ghost Hunters from Sci-Fi TV fame. It’s a great book that discusses their philosophies on paranormal research. It also includes quite a few interesting cases they have been on. Some of these avid Ghost Hunter fans will recognize.

There’s a demonic case that was truly wild… I’m not one to believe in demons. I feel people create them out of their own negative energy… the demon is real to them (I never discount that). Apparently, they can be left behind when the creator moves on. That’s a scary thought. I will write further on this topic another day.

Picture Yourself Ghost Hunting  by Christopher Balzano – This is a great hands on book for those who are interested in hunting some ghost. I’ve only just begun digesting this one. I picked it up to see what other information I can glean on this topic. Everyone has their own method of investigating and alot can be learned from new ideas. Every investigation is different. Every spirit is different, just as any living one is.

Get educated! Hunt Ghosts!

Humorous discussion on Craig’s List…

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 10, 2009 at 9:02 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

I just had it out with a spammer answering an ad I have on Craig’s List offering Graphic Design, Illustration and Copy-writing… They sent me a dissertation on how I can make boo-coos of money with their idea. Out of curiosity, I responded by asking what their spammy little idea has to do with graphic design.

Amazingly, I got a reply. I was instructed to click on a link. Curiosity again ruled my roost and I did just that. It led me to a website that told me how I can start my own housecleaning business… Now, I have nothing against housecleaning. I have done it for extra cash and made quite a bit of dough doing it. I didn’t need a website to remind me.

Again, I e-mailed them back asking what housecleaning has to do with graphic design. I have yet to get a response. They must be mulling it over.

Anyway, I hope they made a penny for that click. Once I divested with the negativity, I found the entire encounter quite amusing. While it’s not worth a cartoon. Any laugh it a good laugh no matter how small.

Computer Arguments…

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 8, 2009 at 9:30 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

This morning was a wash, internet-wise. Apparently, my router decided to usurp the modem for control of the planet. The siege was unsuccessful as told by my internet service, which was AWOL.

Life began to suck moderately… I phoned up ole Time Warner to sort it out. Ms. Automated Voice got impatient when my computer would not boot up fast enough for her and shipped me off to a REAL person. Lucky me! Life began to suck less.

As luck would have it, I wound up with someone who knew what to do and was able to give me explicit instructions on how to save planet internet. I successfully carried out these instructions – unceremoniously unplugging my router (using a few curse words as punishment) and, unplugging my modem (using words of encouragement when I plugged it back in again). After re-plugging the router and specifying it’s place in the world is what it is and there would be no more hostile takeovers unless it wanted to be unplugged permanently and replaced by a truly subservient version, Starship Internet was back online.

This, of course, has nothing to do with the paranormal – unless you consider that my router might be haunted.

Magic 8 Ball Paranormal Device

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 6, 2009 at 11:50 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

Since I’ve determined that the Magic 8 Ball is a useful paranormal detection device – at least for cartoon purposes – I have been missing mine something fierce. In a moment of insanity, I sold it at a garage sale. (DUMB, DUMB, DUMB!!!! ARRRGGHHHH! Image of head banging against wall.)

As luck would have it, the toy store below me happens to sell them! While I haven’t gotten around to purchasing a new one yet, I’ve at least begun to entertain the idea.

This has led me to a renewed inclusion of the aforesaid device in Entities-R-Us cartoons once again. It’s one of those things that is far too funny to miss out on even with the prospect of over-use.

So, look forward to some more 8-Ball humor. And, if you’re ever in Rhinebeck, check out Land Of Oz toy store for your supply of Magic 8 Balls, mood rings and Uncle Wiggley games. AND, they also sell my children’s horse book, Can I Ride, in the handmade and signed version.

Will I write more 8-Ball cartoons? Yes, Definitely!
