Critter is ME!

I’m running Wabbit Hutch again, my old comic strip, while I catch up on external projects. Kick back and enjoy! I have a bunch of these lined up. They are a lot of fun. Since this almost made syndication, it’s a pretty hot strip – at least in “the day,” when people actually read the funny papers.

Yes, my pen name used to be Critter. They called me that in college for a bit. I used to sign ceramic pieces, art, and comics that way. I’ve since sloughed off that bit of ego. Now I just wear my hat and use my real name. Sigh. Yeah, I’m dull as dust, but the work is more important than me.

I’m hoping to be more comically active soon. Meanwhile…

Enjoy!

EVPs

Still scanning the last of the evidence from our recent paranormal investigation. I’ve basically captured a confession of sorts! The psychic picked up on a cover-up murder. We’ll darned if I didn’t get an EVP about it! It seems it was a domestic violence scene. The EVP basically said, “If there were stairs she’d be alive.” It seems a fall down the ladder into the basement killed her?

I need to confer with my teammates on this, especially the psychic and the owner. There are stairs down into the basement, which probably was a ladder at one time. We have a long way to go to prove this happened at all, but the evidence seems to point to there being a murder at this place!

I’ll be posting these soon. I also want to post the Garrison House ones! Those are done. Both of these investigations will appear as episodes of Paranormal Valley this spring. For those of you who missed the Smalley’s Inn episode we did, here’s the link! Also, watch other Hudson Valley teams as they investigate the local haunts! http://yourbgm.tv/yourtv/living/paranormal-valley

I’m hoping to be back to the inked comics soon! I had to finish the series of the Ghost Hunter Ring of Power first. Wait til you see what happens to poor Arno. He really needs to give up the idea of control. It’s just not sitting well with him…

Hey Gang!

Yeah, I know… I’ve been busy putting out fires and starting new ones…  Thanksgiving is upon us! WooHOO! The ghost hunting is slowing up a bit, which is imperative if I’m to get anything else done. I’ve gone through hours of evidence and gleaned a ton of EVPs. I’m up to my ears in my Master Degree program at Full Sail University. I should be graduating in March. I’m looking forward to a breather.

I want to put a new t-shirt line together before the holidays. It’s a scary bit of time-lack that has me worried. I’m working at making sure you all have a comic to read each day. It’s been a struggle.

A nice hot Lotto win would free me up to pay more attention to this blog and the comic. Somehow, it’s not important that it doesn’t bring in any money. I’m just happy to put it out there into the universe for you all to enjoy. I’m just sorry that I have to work my ass off to stay afloat. It certainly cuts into the creative time.

One of my lifetime goals is to put to rest the idea that artists are always starving. If that is to happen, the world has to change it’s view of art. Many European countries subsidize their artists so they can bring beauty into the world without the pressure of wondering when someone is going to throw them a crust of bread. Here in America, we cut funding to the arts, dismiss it from our schools and let our artists resort to graffiti to get their creative “rocks” off.

How we treat our artists is how we regard beauty and pleasure in our lives. Today we work 70 hour weeks, are too tired for vacations or pleasure… so we never see the good in anything. We never smell the roses or watch the sun set… and so we diss the artists.

Artists need to create. Between work, school, freelance jobs, etc. I must work at least 70 hours a week. THEN, I do this comic strip. Oh, and I also need to exercise my horse… and I haven’t included ghost hunting. So, where are my priorities? I feel bad for my spouse! Supplying the world with humor is a far greater motive for my spirit than crunching numbers in a back room, far from an audience to entertain.

All of you should stop and look at your surrounds. What is around you in this world? What are you missing? How much of what you see was designed by artists? We need to consider how much is brought into this world by artists. Did you know Steve Jobs was a design student? How beautiful are the Apple products?! Think about that. It makes you feel good when you hold in your hand a utilitarian device that looks gorgeous!

It’s about feeling good. We all should feel good. We all should laugh and enjoy the world around us.

It begins with appreciating your artists and what they bring to the table.

Sketch Comics

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been fooling around with alternative styles. I hope you don’t mind. I like to experiment. It may lead to some really neat comics in the future. This Sunday’s is a colored version of the pencil drawn comics I’ve been running. It needs work, but I like the roughness of the concept. There is something natural about joke that just shoot out into the world, so the rough cartoon expresses that impulsiveness.

Feel free to give feedback. Even if you don’t like it, I’m willing to hear about it. After all, this is an experiment!

Enjoy! :)
