Howdy folks! It’s been a while. I know some of you have been wondering if I vanished off the earth. Nah… I ‘m just stuffing my head into my books and school work. Who knew pursuing a Masters degree would be so involved?! Ghost hunting has also clamored for my time. Reviewing evidence is tedious and time consuming. I still have a couple more hours worth to slog through. In spite of what TV shows, it’s not a a glamorous job.
You’ll note today’s comic is about our investigation. You’ll see some correlation. I’ve used actual photos taken on site.
Patchett House is a gorgeous brick building built in the early 1800s to serve as an inn and tavern along the Newburgh and Cochecton turnpike. It was later the home of Arthur Patchett and his family from the 1890s until the last heir Emma Patchett left life in 1976 at the age of 96. Emma is still here in spirit, according to Shawn Dell Joyce, the director for Patchett which now is inhabited by the Wallkill River School for Artists. The place became a funeral home and morgue after Emma died. Shortly afterward, the funeral director mysteriously disappeared… I’m still ironing out facts on this jewel of information. Was he haunted out? Kidnapped? Embalmed?
This is a home to die for… I would live here in a heartbeat, ghosts and all. My team, IndyPara arrived on July 16 before dusk. There was no one to be found… However, the basement bulkhead was left open for us. What a creepy way to enter a haunted house! We were greeted by the morgue sinks as we walked in. Scrambling for flashlights, we toodled around in the dark looking for stairs. Eventually we discovered a light switch. We made our way up into the first floor and began to dig equipment out of our cases.
It turned out to be girls night out. Nathan Schoonover was unavailable, Andy Seidel couldn’t make it and even Kelly Leiberman fell ill. We almost had Barry Fitzgerald from Ghost Hunters International if he flew into New York a day earlier! Next time… It was just Donna Parish-Bischoff and new addition Dani Martinez joining me on this night. Dani is a full-blown psychic. So, I knew this would be interesting. Donna and I are sensitive to some degree, but then again, so is everyone.
This night we decided to concentrate less on equipment and more on the senses. We used the digital voice recorders, took still pictures and I fooled around with the iPhone Ovilus a bit.
We were able to validate via EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) and EMF where we felt there was a presence. We were also able to validate our own sense against what the other was feeling. I found it jived most of the time. It was a quiet night, some sounds were heard, but not visual activity such as shadows etc.
The spirits were concentrating energies on speaking, as we got some really clear evps… and loud! There is a strong male presence here. We did get a little of who we think was Emma. Most of the commentary was male and very dark indeed! I’m throwing up a few choice ones. Let me know what you think!
Kitchen Pre-investigation Set Up
Click Here: 1-Patch-IsThatTooCold – This is a woman’s voice. It may say “is that too close?” or something else. I though this was Dani, but it doesn’t sound like her voice.
Click Here: 3-Patch-GlowingBallAtYourFoot – “Glowing ball at your foot.” This was picked up while Donna was messing with her equipment. For a ghost to claim there is a glowing orb at one’s feet is pretty amazing. It show me the spirits are well aware of what we are up to. The Patchett House has been investigated numerous times. I wish Donna looked down!
Vestibule Initial Walk Through – Here I sensed a heaviness. The others confirmed it. You could feel the EMF fields, which were unusually high. Later on, these were lower and the energy had dissipated.

Click Here: 7-Patch-ImGrampa – I’m tempted to say this is my grandfather coming through. It seems higher and not grounded as a ghost would. Also, I called him “Grampa.” We also had hits on the Ovilus at this time that said Grampa. “I’m Grampa.”

Click Here: 9-Patch-Whispers – These whispers wer picked up in the vestibule where we were getting unusually high EMF readings. These may have been spirits after all.

Kitchen again – by the Closet. We experienced the sensation of someone trying to push us away from the closet.

CLASS A – Click Here: 13-Patch-SheIsRightDonna – “She is right, Donna.” THIS IS CLEARLY A MALE VOICE! CLASS A! It claim’s I’m right about something we are talking about… Nice to have a ghost on my side. Remember, there were NO GUYS with our group that night.

Kitchen Closet – We didn’t feel any action in the dining room so we headed to the Kitchen in front of the closet where we felt energy trying to push us away. Each of us felt it in our gut, or solar plexus. This is unusual for me as I generally feel a psychic push in my forehead between the eyes, the “third eye” as they call it.

Don’t touch the light. Alright. No. Worried. Wooshy, wooshy, worry.” It seems like a couple of entities are worried about the recorders and the red lights.

Click Here: 56-Patchett-ClosetNoise2 – More closet noise. Sound like someone messing with recorder. I was on my way there, but not close enough to cause this.
ATTIC – We ventured up to do a session in the attic on a psychic whim. Upstairs I encountered a box the size of a steam trunk with steel sides. It was more modern than a steam trunk. I opened it to discover some carpenter tools and a smell to end all smells… I think it was formaldehyde from the morgue. YUCK. The box was probably used to store chemicals.

Class A- Click Here: 63-Patchett-Table-Yeah – I ask if it can move the table, I get a clear “YEAH.” It’s a definite male voice. We heard this one in the kitchen at one point. This one comes through really clear on several EVPs. I will note the other Class As we got from this character. He’s really strong!
Class A: Click Here: 64-Patchett-ShootMe – “SHOOT ME.” This is shouting! How we never heard it, I have no idea… You hear it after Dani speaks.
Click Here: 65-Patchett-Unknown – This one is hard to determine. I think it says, “Help me.”
Click Here: 67-Patchett-HelpMeMove – “Help me.” Donna heard it in real time.
Click Here: 68-Patchett-IDontKnowWhy – “I don’t know why.” or “I don’t know how.”
Class A? – Click Here: 69-Patchett-Jade – “Pull your chain.” Either this is a class A or Dani said it… I will have to confer with her on this.
Click Here: 70-Patchett-Sentence – This is a sentence, but I can’t make it out.
Click Here: 71-Patchett-IKnowThatTo – This one talks over Dani’s voice making it hard to sort out what is being said.
I still have more evidence to peruse.
These were picked up by the other investigators recorders. Some of these seem really nasty. We’ve tossed the “d” word around, but I’m reluctant to say this place has a negative presence, at least in general. If something wandered in, then we may have a new haunting. If someone used a Ouija in the place, there could be some unwanted entities here now. We are attempting to resolve the situation. We’ll be going back for a second look in August. I must warn you NEVER USE A OUIJA BOARD. It can open the door to some really nasty stuff. It would be irresponsible to bring that into someone’s home or business just for the sake of fooling around. You could leave them with something they cannot deal with.
Class A – Click Here: at 18 seconds Dani voice changes into a mans that says ALONE – This one really freaked some of us out. On top of Dani speaking is a man that says “…Alone…” You can hear parts of the beginning of the sentence and after the word alone. This has the same tone as the voice that said to Donna “She is right.” It shows up on a few EVPs. This was picked up upstairs on the second floor.

Class A – Click Here: EVP 88 – This one came off of Dani’s recorder. I still need to check this part of my evidence. We may have 3 of these… You can hear more of it here.
This one is really unnerving… This is what makes us think something unsavory has taken up at Patchett House.
FREAKY – Click Here: EVP 98 – Evil talk… Could be another language. I’m not sure what it says. It just doesn’t sound kosher…
