Destination Truth vs Turbo Sloth

Firstly… Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I am a first day of Spring springer.

Today’s Guest Draw is your favorite monster reality show, Destination Truth, SyFy. I attempted to squeeze in as many as possible into this strip. This was an idea I cooked up a while back. Finally, I had the opportunity to draw it. I like using Rex in the “medical” capacity of “fixing” drawing errors. It’s an amusing way to look at my usual “happy accidents” with the quill pen.

Also, I would like to introduce you to The Turbo Sloth! This is a webcomic by Benjamin Pernick. I loved his title so much that I asked him if I could “rip it off” for a comic. Ouija Nite Becomes Spirit Nite

I am retooling Ouija Nite into Spirit Nite. Ghost Hunter Nite out for the boys goes a bit generic. However, this allows me to include using a Ghost Box, Table Tipping and other spirit communication.

The main reason for the transition is Parker Brothers owns the rites to the Ouija name. I’m diverting a possible issue that may crop up in the future. This comic strip doesn’t make enough to support me, let alone a lawsuit.

All in all, it’s a worthwhile venture with more opportunity. Just wait till Merv brings in a Witch Board under Vera’s nose… You can all be the flies on the wall for that one! AND, we will do Tarot Nite with the girls occasionally… even though I think it’s funnier to torture men. (Sorry guys, it just is.)

Comics vs Coffee

There are times that comicking and coffee just doesn’t mix. I managed to bloop a bit on the edge of this week’s Guest Draw of the Destination Truth team. Rex Williams and Mike (the sound guy) were nearly stained.

Here are the damages and a slight preview…

Adding new and exciting tones to comics can be accomplished by spilling coffee on them!

Yes, I’m feeling better having survived my bout with botulism soup! Be mindful of what you eat… you could become too friendly with the porcelain goddess without the benefit of drinking.

I was in Barnes & Noble trolling for books when I saw this progression of thought from left to right. I just had to share. Even if you are a pseudo intellectual you’ll think this comic.

Checking in…

Hey gang! It’s been a crazy week. I have a couple of major jobs in the works, plus my Master Degree homework (which is challenging). So, I’ve been away from the blog. Somehow, I keep up with the cartoons.

Of course, Sunday we had a David Hasselhoff Guest Draw courtesy of Arno’s lousy director from Acme Vision TV. This week the team suffers post TV letdown. It turns out Entities-R-Us is not cut out for a reality series. HEY, they’re only cartoons; what did ya expect?! I’m hoping to finish the week with a Destination Truth Guest Draw featuring the Turbo Sloth. I will identify this creature (if he gets his website situated by the weekend). Yes, Josh Gates rides again on Entities-R-Us. We hope Rex Williams has mastered cartoon medicine or someone will pay the price…

I will tease you with the upcoming ghost hunts I’ll be going on. I have found a partner in crime who is not fooling around. Already we are investigating a haunted boutique just minutes from my house (love the convenience!). We also have a couple other possibilities. I will also return the the Shanley soon for a personal investigation for spiritual comic archeology…  which will result in a comic book. My pal and I are looking to do a paranormal lecture as well. I’ll keep you abreast of my soon to be insane schedule. I really need a clone.
