Writing for my character ghost Carl, it occurred to me he was most likely gay. It’s never been mentioned before… So now it’s time he came out of his paranormal closet.
Thor, “real man” that he is, will initially find this difficult. Watch as this unfolds all week. It was definitely interesting to write for sure!
It wouldn’t surprise me much if there were spirits tied to this earth who were still wrestling with the issue of being homosexual. Sometimes it takes a couple of centuries to work this stuff out, especially if one has been saddled with religion.

Yesterday I was called into work, which would usualy suck for a Saturday, but I used the time to draw cartoons between customer rushes. There are no accidents… At the very end of the day I met up with a couple women who had come to the area for the annual Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck. Ironically, we wound up discussing astral travel, ghosts, hauntings, etc… Interesting fun discussion. It was worth a day in the shop for sure. Nice to know I’m not the only one with weird past life dreams and a penchant for leaving my body to go on excursions… (Skeptics, just sit tight, this discussion is over – belief is not required.)

I often wonder if ghosts become despondent when the living are freaked out and don’t want them in their homes. Imagine being on the playground and all the kids scream when they see you.
If you don’t realize you are dead, this could be psychologically damaging. Since a ghost is still the same person who left the body so long ago and is still attached to the physical aspect of life, it is highly likely the reactions of the living would have a significant impact on him/her.
This might explain why some spirits become angry, noisy ghosts. Being ignored or feared might inspire them to act out, just like they would if they were still in the body. (I’d use the term “living”, but in reality they are still alive, just not physically.)
Food for thought when you’re throwing up your arms, fleeing the scene while screaming, “DUDE RUN!”
