Weekends off for the ‘toonist!

by Terri J. Garofalo on November 3, 2012 at 10:10 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

In order for me to do awesome comics, I’ve decided to go to five days a week, taking weekends off. This is afford me the opportunity to start writing again. It is my goal to put out another book soon. I need time to do it.

So, hopefully you won’t abandoned Entities in disgust. After all, most webcomics go up once a week!

Biography Channel told us the wrong information. Apparently my episode with the Patchett House will be on another night. However, Poughkeepsie Paranormal Investigators was on last light though! At least one of our “home boys” was present! So, stay tuned. I’ll tell you when to watch for it again… Hopefully, the Bio-Scheduler will be on board with correctness!

My Ghost Story with IndyPara Tonight!

by Terri J. Garofalo on November 2, 2012 at 6:53 am
Posted In: Entities Blog, Events

My paranormal team, IndyPara will be featured on tonight’s My Ghost Story on Biography Channel! So, tune in at 9pm EST to see Nathan Schoonover, Danny Martinez with Donna Parish-Bischoff and myself discussing the Patchett House! THEN, check out our good pals Poughkeepsie Paranormal Investigators – James Mulchahy and his crew investigating the Penny House.

I’m going out for dinner to celebrate my hubby’s birthday, so I’ll probably miss it. So, tell me how it was. I’m curious to know if I wound up on the cutting room floor… If there is a “bloody hand” it’s mine. HA!

Halloweening

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 31, 2012 at 8:56 pm

For once I am HOME for Halloween. Last year I was in the throws of a paranormal investigation. This time, I’m finishing comics and handing out candy. I decided to add a little extra this year. With each piece of candy, I’ve given a mini comic of Entities-R-Us. The kids loved it.

I’ve also decorated my door with ghosts of Carl, Thor, my standard hat ghost and a couple of demons. I usually don’t get around to decorating, but this year I put a few minutes into it. Here’s the result!

I will say, the comics help stretch the candy further. We have an extraordinary amount of trick or treaters every year. Hurricane Sandy cut the numbers some, but not by much. The costumes were great. The best one was a 3 year old dressed as a Christmas present. It was her first trick or treat and man was she cute! We also has a grandma dressed as a baby. And I thought I was too old to trick or treat! HA!

It’s nice to see there are those out there who still participate in this activity. All the years of scare tactics, pins and razor blade threats, it’s nice to see some positive fun. The world is looking up!

Hurricane Cartoons and Computer Fritzes

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 29, 2012 at 3:10 pm
Posted In: Comics, Entities Blog

Entities-R-Us is back in action. My computer still is not. So, without PhotoShop, things will be rather bland. As you can see, I’m trying a new format. My hope is to have “Kindle-able” comics. These will be more conducive to storytelling. It’s funny how a tragedy will induce you to explore new avenues… I was intending to do this for a while, but haven’t bothered to jump in. Well, I was forced to in a sense. Being unable to post a cartoon, I figured I would explore options. I have a lot of ideas in regards to this comic and this website. Over time, I will be working toward these goals.

Twitter buddies have requested “Hurricane Thor” in honor of our impending hurricane Sandy. And so, I’m working on this one right now. Hopefully, I’ll have the post up before we lose power over here. The wind is increasing in intensity. Rain is pelting the windows. My birds are becoming increasingly freaky. Ironically, my left wrist was aching like crazy this morning. The pressure is the likely culprit. Years ago, in my freshman year of college, I managed to break it while racing a friend back to the cafeteria. I slipped in a mud puddle and crashed into cement steps. They never checked for the concussion. Of course, the shape of my wrist drew attention away from my groggy brain. This incident necessitated my learning to draw with the right hand. Hence, I became more ambidextrous. See how these things work out? Always for the better. I have a useful skill.

Batten down the hatches folks! It’s going to be a bumpy ride!

Ghost Train

by Terri J. Garofalo on October 27, 2012 at 8:18 pm

Friday I had the pleasure to be the guest “talent” for Utica’s Light 98.7’s Haunted Rails – Ghost Train. Two-hundred plus people boarded the Adirondack Railroad headed to Remsen, New York. Shadow Chasers Paranormal Team was on deck running the event organized by the founder Phillip Creighton. I wandered the train with them talking ghost and answering questions. Arriving in Remsen we disembarked for the Art Center and the guests to the Stone House for an investigation.

The event was sold out. There were so many people, they were split into three groups, which meant three lectures for me. I was forced to create a new Powerpoint from scratched since my computer freaked out and died. This worked out so much better. I built it entirely off the comics. This helped drive my talk. I prefer to speak off the cuff. It is more natural and comes off better. So, the talks were pretty good by my critical standards. People seemed to enjoy it.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to eat until all the lecturing was finished. We were in mad rush mode to make the train, so I was cruising in a van stuffing my face in a frenzy to make the train. All in all, I really enjoyed it. I met a train-load of wonderful people on the train. Conversations were paranormally interesting. It was great to connect with so many cool people.

The Shadow Chasers group was fantastic. The radio people were very accommodating. They were awesome enough to put me up at the Hotel Utica, an amazing art deco hotel that happens to be HAUNTED! It was the only ghost investigating I was able to do. I could feel energies on the mezzanine stairs and the ball room. I awoke this morning to the sound of someone sighing… I was alone in my room and IT WASN’T ME!

So, if you happen to be in Utica, take a ride on the Adirondack railroad. It’s a great way to see the sights. I would hedge my best the Haunted Rails – Ghost Train will cruise again next year, so get your reservations! It is well worth it! AND, I might be there again… back by popular demand!

COMPUTER/COMIC UPDATE

I STILL DO NOT HAVE A FUNCTIONING COMPUTER… Apparently they left the boot disk in my computer and I cannot get it out no matter what. So, it has to go back. So, I have none of my Adobe programs to make comics. I’m going to go rogue and do things from hand. I won’t be able to color or fix anything, so it will be a bit rough. But, at least we’ll have comics again.

TECHNOLOGY SUCKS sometimes…
