SWIMSUIT EDITION RESUMES!

by Terri J. Garofalo on December 8, 2012 at 7:37 pm
Posted In: Comics, Entities Blog

Just in time for winter, I have resurrected the Swimsuit Edition I promised to finish before my computer went “crashola” and left me without my comics and meaning of life. This first one with Nick Groff of Ghost Adventures was part of the lost data that cost me a pretty penny to retrieve. Alas, the cost of Ghost Adventures… But, here is Nick back from the black hole of a lost Toshiba hard drive of my Mac, infected with the red matter thanks to some lousy spirit who wasn’t a fan of my comic strip and probably a Romulan… I shouldn’t have made fun of that one. …Or I should START!

Coming up is the rest of the GAC crew. Then, I’ll move into Destination Truth!! This is all at your request, so Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanza, and Festivus for the Restuvus!

I will be posting more of these… Stay tuned! I will be returning to my original comic format too. However, I will continue to do an occasional “Napkin Comic.”

Data is back!

by Terri J. Garofalo on December 5, 2012 at 7:22 am

Yes, it is! The data from my crashed Macbook is back in my possession. I took the evening off cartooning to explore what was rescued. Apparently everything is there!

I can thank http://www.dataretrieval.com. The hard drive had a pretty severe crash, so I was lucky to get anything!

I will be backing up from now on.

The best thing is, I can begin writing my books again. It has been a long time since I put out Entities-R-Us, Paranormal Humor for the Ghost Hunter’s Soul.

So, forgive me for a lax in comics today. I will resume tomorrow.

Eat Cookies! Hunt Ghosts!

The Sticking Points of Comic Format

by Terri J. Garofalo on December 1, 2012 at 10:44 am
Posted In: Comics, Entities Blog

The wrestling with comic format is becoming stressful… well, that’s exaggerating. The graphic novel sized comic format is not doing it for me. Let’s face it; I’m a gag cartoonist. While I do an occasional story, it is always a series of gags. The graphic novel page is TOO DAMNED LONG!

So now what? I’ve been enjoying the “Napkin” comic format, which is basically a near single panel gag – though I push it to two frames occasionally. What I enjoy most about this is the quickness of it. It really allows the jokes to flow. I’ve never been as creative at a planned comic as I am on the fly.

So, how does one do a daily webcomic with the time constraints of a full time job and other interests? I’m working on it. When I have an answer, I’ll spread the gospel.

I’m truly feeling the need to go back to the old comic strip panel format. It just suits the work. The exploration has been excellent. I will continue to do the “Napkin” comics as I feel these are truly fresh and interesting. Somehow I think it will be interesting for you as a reader.

If you have any thoughts, do share!

Also, my data is coming back. I spend about $2000 to have it retrieved from my crashed hard drive. Yes, I will be considering the big back up from now on… Sheesh! I’m hoping the “Swimsuit Edition” survived the world’s end. I want to continue that. YEAH, I KNOW WE’RE INTO WINTER… But, you would love to hit the beach, right?! I still need to draw Ghost Adventures, Destination Truth, Fact or Faked, and a few other requests.

Meanwhile, Eat Cookies, Hunt Ghosts and Read Comics!

Holiday Fest

by Terri J. Garofalo on November 23, 2012 at 8:40 am

Howdy folks! I’ve been caught up in holiday madness, work and reestablishing my computer situation. I’ve enjoyed a productive week having witnessed the launch of the website I designed for work. That was a long time coming… The design, negotiation and coordination with coworkers, the bosses and web developer were exhausting, but well worth it. We now have a website that is both functional and awesome.

Take a look! AND, if you have any tool fanatics on your Christmas list, this is where you need to go! Innovative Products of America makes original tools, most are made in America. http://www.ipatools.com

Comics

As you can see, I’ve been interspersing color comics with the new “napkin comics.” These are infinitely quicker to draw and will allow me to continue as a daily comic. Also, my ideas come fast and furious when I go simple. So, look forward to a gaggle of great gags. I will save the color for story lines… or more involved jokes. One day I may be able to make a living doing comics and therefore, be able to devote full time attention to them again.

I’m thankful you are patient with my experiments. I’m not shy about trying new things in public… sink or swim, it’s more interesting than being the same old thing all the time.

I do not know where I’m going with all of this, but the journey is fun.

Eat Cookies… and leftover turkey, Hunt Ghosts!
