The cool thing about philosphy is one can think an idea inside out and backwards twisting it into a whole other entity. In today’s comic, I thought I’d take Andy Andrews, debunking fool for Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International, through the reverse of my process. Let’s face it, we cannot really prove we exist, that anything is real… What does existence and reality really mean? Descartes said, “I think, therefore I am.” But, how does he know he is really thinking and if that thought has any bearing on reality whatsoever? Eckhart Tolle says thinking, getting lost in thought is getting lost in the false self… So what is the true self? How do we know it exists?
What is awareness? Now that we are sort of aware about being aware, what the hell does that mean?
Here’s two Advil for the headache I just caused. 🙂 🙂
And what does this mean for paranormal investigations? Stay tuned… I’ll attempt to mess up the logic on that at some point as well.
Meanwhile, real or not we might as well enjoy ourselves. So ditch these thoughts, grab a cookie and seize the day (Carpe Diem).
