Live Free or Die

Yes, I’m originally from New Hampshire… Home of the world’s coolest license plate saying EVER! – Live Free or Die.

It makes perfect sense to me and always has. One of these days I’m going to move back there, where I belong. Long ago I bastardized a John Denver song in honor of that thought…

“Almost Heaven, Keene, New Hampshire

White Mountains, Ashuelot River

…blah blah blah

Take me home, Country Roads

to the place I belong…

Keene, New Hampshire, Mount Monadnock,

Take me home country roads!”

Now picture me singing that in my car as I cruise up to visit the family. (Don’t be frightened, I’m virtually harmless.)

Leaving the Realm of the Third Dimension

One might think there is little room for possibility in the realm of the second dimension. I used to subscribe to that idea back in my days at the University of Hartford Art School. I tried my damnedest to resist two-dimensional art.

Taking lithography (a printing technique using a huge stone, drawing on it with crayons, applying water, ink and mashing it onto paper), I resorted to tearing apart the prints and sewing them into three dimensional boxes. This was pretty cool actually…

These days I have a new appreciation for the wonders of second dimension… With the comic strip, I can invent scenarios that our physical world just does not support – like paranormal, alien, laser holes through my characters which, for some whacked out reason do not hinder their existence whatsoever. HOW COOL IS THAT?!

Let’s just say I’m having a ripsnorting time in the second dimension. That’s where the party is right now.

Inside the head of a cartoonist…

There are some times I wish I could let you inside my head to see all the cool ideas in there awaiting application… Recently, I’ve had some doosies! Last night for instance… However, I cannot share yet.

This is the biggest drawback of the physical world. You have to go through all this b.s. to create something. I am looking forward to the time when I can just think something into being! Just think of how much we could accomplish in a short amount of time!

It’s about the process… the joy is in the process… yeah, I suppose. Patience has not been my strong suit. Alas, I can but tantalize you with what will be! Drooling yet? I hope not; not eager to mop the floor this morning.

UFOs, Mid-Casual Beings to Paracons…

I was re-reading an old book from my archives, Messages from Michael by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. It is a true story about a group of people who communicated with a “Mid-Causal” entity they called Michael. It’s a very interesting book… like Seth Speaks. I tend to read various stuff like this to compare notes. Intriguing to say the least…

Today’s comic comes from a comment by the entity Michael. When asked about UFOs, he or it claimed that some visitors are here for research and others are TOURISTS. This elicited a chuckle and the following comic popped into my head. This in turn launched an Entities-R-Us investigation of the Roswell, NM UFO crash site.

And so we extend the paranormal range for this week. It will preempt Ouija Nite, so Ouija fans will have to lay low until next week where I have a really interesting one lined up.
