Spirits Freaking Out Cats…

by Terri J. Garofalo on September 21, 2009 at 5:13 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

My former cat ZEEK! (yes, spelled all caps with exclamation), when we first moved into the haunted home, used to just scream out for no reason. It was the same “WEEAAAAAAAA!” he used to do when you stared in his face. The poor guy was pretty wigged out after we moved, as cats normally are. However, this behavior was bizarre.

Once we realized we weren’t alone in the house, we figured that poor ZEEK! was experiencing the OTHER roommate. We were also treated to the juicy information that the former old lady who lived there hated cats. We assumed Mrs. Yanker was staring him down on a regular basis.

Fortunately for ZEEK!’s sake, it subsided or he got used to being spiritually stared down. The ZEEK!ster has since crossed over and awaits us when we give up the ghost over here in physical-land.

Another cat note… Cynthia of the Shanley Hotel lost her cat the weekend we stayed there. Her feline friend too ill and passed that Sunday. This was an intriguing cat in that it like to spend most of its time on the third floor in a room that was inhabited by the astral of Claire.

Psychics had reported that Claire claimed ownership of the cat. The cat obviously was attached to her. Animals can see spirits while we cannot. So, it is not a stretch to find an animal attaching itself to an astral.

Uniquely enough, the apparition we caught on the stealth camera looked alot like a cat… in fact another one seems to have a cat lying down in Claire’s room. This was approximately an hour after the cat had passed. However, the main apparition picture looks to be a little tall for a cat and is quite possibly the kneeling spirit of Jonathan, the boy who haunts up there.

So, did the cat not move on deciding to live out his astral years with Claire until she decides to cross? It is likely there is now a cat haunting at the Shanley now. Perhaps the cat is the one to help her over…

Interesting…

Dustin Pari’s Ecto Hair

by Terri J. Garofalo on September 20, 2009 at 6:30 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

Dustin Pari agreed to be this week’s Guest Draw a while back. This comic had been laying in wait for approval. That finally came this past week when Dustin’s schedule slowed enough for a message check.

Of course, it’s easy to take the “paranormal rock star” angle with him… too much humor to let that one go. The funny thing was Shannon Sylvia made a comment about “ecto hair” in regards to Arno’s character in her Guest Draw. Ironically, I had just done Dustin’s “ecto hair” comic and thought for sure she had seen his cartoon! But, as the universe goes, she had not, but probably felt that connecting humor force that leads us all to the same jokes! Also ironic is the original drawings of the character Arno did rip off Dustin’s hair…

Off the well beaten hair path is the awesome book that Dustin and Barry FitzGerald wrote, The Complete Approach. It’s must have for any paranormaler’s library. You can find this at the website thecompleteapproachbook.com or on Barnes and Noble’s website. Rumor has it that B&N now is stocking it in the stores (though my local one hasn’t gotten with the program yet.)

Enjoy! Eat Cookies! Hunt Ghosts! Tame Your Ecto Hair!

Blasted by Mom!

by Terri J. Garofalo on September 18, 2009 at 5:01 pm

I will have to recant part of my blog in regards the the Laugh-In comments… My mom clarified my gross misrepresentation of my childhood.

“Just read your blog for Sept. 17 & 18th. Just wanted you to know that we never forbid you from watching any TV programs when you were growing up.  We all loved Laugh-In. ” – Mom

Of course it was more likely a matter of us young-un’s needing to be in bed by that time! So, I was mistaken. Thanks, Mom, for clearing that up! 🙂

Now we know the truth!

ENTITIES-R-US IS 1 TODAY!

by Terri J. Garofalo on September 18, 2009 at 6:35 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

Last year on September 18, 2008, Entities-R-Us, Ghost Hunter Comic made it’s debut.

As a treat I’m posting below a few of the In Spirit  comics that the Entities crew originated from… You’ll see the transformation in drawing, character, etc. Arno changed his name from Arlo and got smarter. Merv jumped a couple of I.Q. notches as well… And Woodsworth became our skeptic. I guess I need to draw a few more skeptic toons… haven’t used the dude in a while.

Random thoughts and I could use a good beer apparition…

by Terri J. Garofalo on September 17, 2009 at 5:08 am
Posted In: Entities Blog

Of course today’s comic deserves mention… I can imagine a ghost wanting to kick back with a fine “Sammy A” (Samuel Adams for you non-beer-snobs). I suppose once I get out there in spirit-land, I’ll either manifest a fine Cabernet or some Dixie’s Blackened VooDoo.

Wandering off track… I read this morning that Mary Travers of the folk group Peter Paul & Mary passed away. Thus ends one of the finer points of my childhood. I grew up with their music and listen to it still. To me there is no finer rendition of Dylan’s “Blowing in the Wind”  than theirs. If you ever catch one of the PBS specials where this group performs, it’s fodder for the soul. She will be missed.

Also, we lost another icon of my youth, Henry Gibson who starred in the program I was not allowed to watch because, in the words of Monty Python (which was far worse I might add) contained far too many “naughty bits”… Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In. Yes, I did sneak a watch now and then… and yes, I did watch every sorry bit of Monty Python’s Flying Circus when the ‘rents were out and I was babysittin’ my little co-conspirator brother, Peter… who is still far funnier than I am. 🙂

And, of course these things come in threes… Patrick Swayze gave up the ghost as well. Another icon to be missed… Although I pray I don’t get sucked into yet another viewing of Dirty Dancing!  Ghost is far more appropriate for this blog. So, I’d rather catch that one. On a spooky note, Patrick Swayze looked a lot like my brother-in-law who passed, the one I was treated to his apparition. If you don’t know that story, check out the Ghost Stories page on this site.

On a random, random thought… I had an excellent lesson with my horse. He is slotting into the routine of Dressage and is looking like the superstar I know he is.  And that has absolutely nothing to do with the paranormal! HA!

And, finally, I will be getting back to trolling for EVPs with my Shanley Hotel evidence. A bunch of clients resurrected themselves with deadlines, so I have to attend to them first.

Eat Cookies, Hunt Ghosts, Get yer work done!
