I had the pleasure of meeting Carl Johnson and his side-kick Dena Petrazini at the Queen City Paracon in April. These two were a lot of fun. Yes, Dena is a “rock star” in the performing sense. She doesn’t miss a chance to entertain.
I ribbed Carl for resembling Kevin Spacey. His appearance and some of his mannerisms line up. Interestingly enough, when I drew him and Kevin (you’ll see in an upcoming comic) they looked clearly different. I guess since they ARE different spirits, it actually shows up in comic form. Intriguing…
Since Carl is a demonologist (you may have seen him on Ghost Hunters when he was with TAPS, and on other paranormal shows), he asked me if he inspired the character of Vlad. Interestingly enough, including a demonologistdoes come out of the early Ghost Hunters when Carl and his brother Keith used to appear regularly. However, Carl is far from the twisted, closed character of Vlad… Carl is rather un-demonic.
In fact, Carl is a great investigator who placates spirits in a gentle fashion. It is important to honor with compassion those who remain here after death. He and Dena make a great team, fun to investigate with and to share a few drinks.

Carl and Keith Johnson are phonies.
They are obvious phonies.
These guys have had no formal theological education and pass themselves off as demonologists for no other reason than profit.
They prey on the gullible and should be arrested as the con artists that they are.
Their association with those two idiot plumbers and their monkey-boy Steve prove that, they have been outed as fakers of evidence.
I always encourage all opinions on here. I do know Carl in passing and find him to be a likable decent guy. I always withhold judgment until I have absolute evidence.

Michael, you are one who knows not and knows not that you know not. There is no requirement that someone have theological education to be a demonologist. Demons are entities that due to special needs require a particular level of power to remove. After 44 years and a psychic and medium I know from experience that formal training is for weaker practitioners who need a crutch. More powerful like Carl (who I don’t know but have watched) don’t need that crutch. Demons don’t go to church! Defensive bullies, however are abhorrant in any forum.

Michael, my wife Sandra, my brother Carl and I work daytime jobs to make ends meet, and I make far from a great financial living as an author. Carl and I worked on the paranormal case that eventually came to be known as “The Conjuring” back when we were still both teenagers, and we are still close to the Perron family to this day. We were obviously not represented in the 2013 movie “The Conjuring”, nor were we ever paid when the movie came out… but we and our friend Donna were able to intervene on behalf of a family in need at a time when even their own church had rejected them. And by the grace of God we were kept safe. The Warren’s came in later, having been notified by us. But, certainly we are not “con artists”. And as Terri said, thank you for replying. ~ Keith
