Spooky evening in the North Adams Cemetery. Note moisture orbs.

Down the road from the Houghton Mansion, across from the High School in North Adams, Massachusetts is a cemetery. I was privileged to be invited to investigate with the Harvest Moon paranormal group. Kimberly Huertes and her fellow paranormallers were both welcoming and very professional.

Harvest Moon Paranormal Investigators.

I was joined by my new found friend Robin whose family plot happens to be in this particular cemetery. Our meanderings led us down a path that was suddenly stricken by a cold spot so potent some of us could see their breath. It was a warm night, so this was strange. There was a swamp nearby that seemed to generate pockets of varied temperature air… but that did not explain visible breath.

At this point I asked if there was someone who would like to speak with us. I got this EVP of a male voice:

Grave1-I’mGladtoTalktoYou: “I’m glad to talk to you.”

We moved along toward a tree under which some of us had seen a dark shadow flitting about. I did see some activity like this during the night, but it was tough to make out, so it was inconclusive to me.

This voices were picked up after we had some weird sensations next to a gravestone. Some of us were feeling nauseous. I felt pressure on my solar plexus.

Grave4-Mydaughter: “I love my daughter.” (female voice)

Grave6-OhSpeakICannotHear: “Oh speak I cannot hear.” (female voice)

Grave7-SlipThrough: “Slip through.” (male voice)

This next batch came from the graveside of Robin’s Grandmother. This worked out to be a very spiritual, comforting experience for Robin. There was inexplicable warm air surrounding us. Robin felt it caress her face. A hot spot was concentrated behind the gravestone. The stones were still warm from the sun, but none at warm as this one. I wish we had a thermometer to document this. Upon my exclamation about this we picked up an EVP in the background. I don’t know what it’s saying. It’s definitely female.

Grave8-voiceunderneath: After I say the word cold there is a high pitched voice that almost sounds like “Hello”… or “..l0” (female voice)

Questioning revealed these responses.

Grave10-YesYes: “Yes, yes.” (female voice)

Grave13-Happy: “Happy.” (female voice) This seems like an odd response, but I think the spirit was trying to say that they are well and happy on the other side and not to worry.

Grave14-ILoveMyGrandaughter: “I love my grand daughter.” (female voice) Obviously this is meant for Robin. What a great comfort to hear from the other side!

We moved along to another family plot where Robin’s dog is buried. We had strange sensations of heat on our feet as if a dog was sitting on them. When I mentioned my foot was warm, Robin informed me that the dog liked to sit on people’s feet. Also I sensed warmth about 15-24 inches off the ground between us. Her dog was approximately that height. Then we caught and evp of a faint dog howl.

Grave22-dogsing: At the end where Robins talks of the dog singing with her mother you can hear a little howl. “Wooo.”

At another relation’s grave Robin explains how this particular uncle was very funny. He seems to respond.

Grave23-IAm: Listen carefully as the sounds of swishing begin (I was messing with recorder); you can hear “I am” in response to Robin saying that he was a funny guy.

These are random EVPs picked up along the way back.

Grave24-LikeAPieceofMyTurkey: This one is faint, but if you listen in the background you’ll hear “Would you like a piece of my turkey?” Seems like an echo of a residual picnic. Probably should have amplified this one…

Grave25-HelloTj: Something was aware of who I am… None of the investigators were calling me T.J. I do sign my posts that way, but everyone introduced me as Terri.

Grave26-I’mPretty: Amongst the talking you can hear a voice saying, “I’m pretty.”

Grave27-ComeAlongComeAlong: This one was urging us along. “Come along, come…”

The review of the photographic evidence revealed some unexplained light anomalies. First I will show a comparison of the cemetery lights, moisture orbs and what I believe to be an insect as well as a strange orange light.

To the right above "Wright" stone is cemetery lights that appear white. You can see moisture orbs as light and a possible insect to left. Above the white "insect" in the background is a strange orange light anomaly.

These orange lights appeared in several photos. They seem to have their own light source. While some of these photos might indicate the individual lights are cemetery lighting, the final photo shows several in a cluster that appear over the road. I’m not sure what these are. If they are insects, I’d be surprised as it was a breezy night, rough for flying insects. In fact, we were near a marshy area and were not bothered by black flies or mosquitoes because of the wind.

Orange light anomaly to the right of the frame.

Orange orb to the left in front of gravestone below flag pole. Does look like cemetery light. Evidence circumstantial in lieu of other photos.

Great example of a moisture or dust orb at top of frame. However orange light anomaly rides to the right above distant grave stone.

You can see a bug above the second grave stone in the center of pict. To the right there is an orange light in front of a stone behind it.

This made me a believer... Seems like a group of light anomalies out for a stroll along the road. They are their own light sources.

Lightened version of the above photo.

The last photo convinced me that I wasn’t looking at cemetery lights or bugs… This one was just weird. I’m not sure what to make of it. Is it paranormal or not? I welcome opinions on it.

The investigation concluded at the Children’s Memorial. Here we smelled pipe smoke around us. I’m not sure if this wafted in from somewhere, it was pretty strong if it did. None of the smokers had lit up here. If was definitely pipe smoke.

The cemetery investigation was an enlightening experience clearly designed for Robin’s personal comfort. I think we all seek assurances that our family members are safe on the other side and that they check in on us. There are no accidents in this world. The only reason Robin was able to join this investigation was because she was shacking up in the hotel with me and I asked if she could join us. It was no accident Harvest Moon picked THIS cemetery where Robin’s family rests. There are greater purposes… This was more than just a ghost hunt.
