RETURN to Miss Fanny’s

by Terri on May 9, 2013 at 9:13 pm
Posted In: Entities Blog, Events

YOU TOO can join us at Miss Fanny’s Victorian Party House for a public investigation with Poughkeepsie Paranormal Investigators! Some of us from IndyPara will be on hand as well. Julia Drahos is opening up her haunted home, featured on Bio Channel’s My Ghost Story and SyFy’s Haunted Collector.

Brian Harnois formerly from Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International will be there to lecture and head up the haunt.

Reserve your tickets today! at www.missfannys.com.

I’m hoping to join in on Friday’s investigation. Perhaps Isaiah the pinching ghost will goose me again! This is an active haunting. It can be pretty intense, so buck up and be ready!

See you there!

Entities-R-Us Ditches Daily

You all knew it was coming with the sporadic postings. It’s been a ride to hell in a hand basket (what the hell is a hand basket?!) to keep up with a daily cartoon, creative director job and life in general. So, I’m cutting back to four days a week. This will afford more time to write and publish. Also, it will allow me to put more energy into the quality. I love to write off the cuff, but I would like a chance for refinement. So, here it goes!

The old axiom, less is more, finally slapped me upside the head. So, I hope you are willing to wait for superior comics. I want to put out quality more than quantity.

So, please enjoy yourselves and have a laugh or two.

Just think, when I cash in that winning lotto ticket, I’ll jump back in for a full 7 days again… or maybe only 5, so  I can travel. I get tired of four walls and a computer.

Paranormal Scare Tactics

by Terri on April 30, 2013 at 8:23 pm
Posted In: Entities Blog, Paranormal Investigation

Yes, my paranormal team is big on attempting to freak out each other. Sometimes it works, mostly it doesn’t… SO DON’T TRY IT OR I’LL SLUG YOU TOO! LOL

Wandering around in the dark is the perfect opportunity to say, “BOO!”… or mostly “RAHHHH!!!” (our preferred freakout of choice). The worst is IndyPara generally investigates with Poughkeepsie Paranormal Investigators, which contains a few seasoned “scarers.” You can hardly go around a corner between EVP sessions and not expect James Mulcahy to stick his heathen hollering, demonic head out from behind a door. Fortunately, I do not scare easy.

I’m used to being the scarer… IT’S ME! I DO THE SCARING! Sheesh… The worst is, I keep trying to scare the bastard and he doesn’t flinch! (I don’t flinch either, but sometimes I nearly raise a fist). One of these days it will be “POW, RIGHT IN THE KISSER!” That will probably end our paranormal partnership though. So, I hold back.

Alas, we, yes we do a serious and professional investigation at each place we go to. But, we are not librarians! So, expect a little good natured humor when you invite us to sort out your ghosts. Who knows, I may even bring Thor along! He’ll haunt you for a while, then he’ll leave for a more abundant mead barrel.

Do ghosts stick around the body?

by Terri on April 20, 2013 at 8:44 pm
Posted In: Entities Blog, Paranormal Investigation

Good question! Sometimes they must. In lieu of a tragic accident, I imagine the spirit would hang around until the crime was solved, or, in the case of this comic, until the body is found. What happens after 100 years?!

This brings to mind an experience I had involving a psychic and the old farm property I used to own. The fellow discovered there was a ghost haunting the top of the hill who was angry his body was not sent home. He was also missing his box of stuff and was refusing to leave until it was returned… Fat chance, since it was lost 100 years ago. The fellow was thrown from a horse onto a rock in the gully behind the hill. He haunted the hill… and was quite angry. This scenario explained why my horse was always uncomfortable up there.

I made an effort to help this fellow move on. Unfortunately, he just stared me down. I doubt he was going anywhere. He’s probably still there.

When there is a haunting, a little research and some applied logic and one can generally figure out why a ghost would stay behind in a location. The more facts uncovered, the more of a shot you have at sending these lost souls onward. If you can move them on, it’s incredibly rewarding… especially for the ghost I presume.Unfortunately, I could not discover enough information about the man on the hill. So, he’ll probably haunt another 100 years until he gives up.

More para-food for thought.

Enjoy!

Not All Spirits are Haunt Specific

by Terri J. Garofalo on April 14, 2013 at 8:31 pm
Posted In: Entities Blog, Paranormal Investigation

Working on the last of the audio evidence for Harmony House investigation, I noticed there seemed to be a few spirits that did not seem to be attached to the place. Not every ghost is grounded to a location. Some come along for the ride. There comes a time when a ghost hunter realizes he/she has become a “cellphone” to the afterlife. Apparently, it gets around. Ghosts talk, you know.

I noticed this when I discovered a couple EVPs from a spirit who was interested in crossing over. I broached the subject and had a positive response. I’m hoping he took my advice to go to his family, to God… or the white light… or whatever it is. I’m still not sure what it is, just where to send them.

One needs to be aware that every spirit encountered is not necessarily haunting the joint. They will join in for entertainment, help, or a hello. My grandfather has shown up on EVP, as has my old neighbor. A recently deceased aunt has left me a message as well. It’s interesting to say the least.

So, when you flip on your voice recorder, keep and open mind. You never know who you’ll be talking to.
